I was just browsing the top 1000 images (Most Viewed), and was surprised to see DrJOnes 'soft sun' in the number two spot (It's been #1 as long as I can remember). I do not want to take anything away from the new most viewed photo 'A Splash of Color', but in looking at a cached page on Google of the Most Viewed photos dated 8-8-05, that image showed 46,133 views. 'A Splash of Color' now shows 59,995 views. 13,862 views in 9 days seems excessive. Has anyone else seen any similar excessively large jumps in view totals?

I haven't noticed... But it surprised me to see how many views this one has!!! :-)

BTW there are some relatively new entries that are in the first page of the most viewed!!

It must be a record breaker that Heida´s "Lost" is in this position in such a short time!! Congratz Heida!!

Those are all great images. 'A Splash of Color' is also a great image. With the number of people that currently belong to DPC, ribbon winners and other great photos get lots of views after a challenge, but 'A Splash of Color' is from Dec. 2002. Looking at a different cached page of the Most Viewed photos on Yahoo! dated 7-24-05, 'A Splash of Color' had 17,235 views. So in 23 days the view totals have increased by 42,760+ views, or about 1.3 views per minute. Just seems excessive to me.

This is becoming an obsession!!! 'A Splash of Color' on the Most Viewed page has been 'viewed' 2163 times in the last 12 hours. These do not seem like valid 'views' to me, but since no one else is worrying about this, I'll let it drop after this posting.

p.s. 12 more views during the two minutes I have been typing out this post.

lol, mabye someone put the page on constant refresh and forgot their computer. I would think there would be some way to check for this, bandwith usage or something. I think this is an issue that has to go to Drew and Langdon rather than SC. Good job bringing it up Rod.

not to accuse anyone of anything, but if one wanted to boost their views, it really wouldn't be that hard to write a program to constantly refresh a page....
