I'm so thrilled!!! I took my highest scoring dpchallenge photo and submitted it to the Mid-State Fair here in California, and I won a first place ribbon in the miscellaneous category. Granted, it's a small fair and there were not tons of entries, but who cares, it's a blue ribbon! I'm happy as a clam. Just wanted to share!

Congratulations!
Is this the first time you've entered at a fair? I entered the first time two years ago at our county fair and won a blue on the one photo I entered. I've now entered two more county fairs and a state fair since then and have won 17 total place ribbons and 5 champion ribbons. It's addictive and I'm hooked. Only three weeks 'til the state fair! |

Congrats Evaan! I too just won a blue ribbon at out County Fair. I am so proud of you and I am so excited for myself, It is my first also. Great photo here is the one I entered:

Larryslights, congratulations to you on all your medals! Yes, this is my first time entering a photo, or anything else for that matter, at a fair so I was pretty shocked to win a ribbon. You certainly have won a ton of ribbons over such a short time at the fairs you've entered!! Congratulations on all of them, but especially the champion ones! I can see how doing the fairs could get addictive. Glad you're doing so well!!
Groggyfoggy, love Mrs. Roberts!! Congratulations on your first blue ribbon!!! It's a kick, isn't it! I have a friend who bakes, and enters all kinds of contests all year long and she wins a lot. She's the one who got me going on this. She says that what often is done is that people who win blue ribbons at their local fairs, submit them to the state fair the following year. I don't know about that, yet, but I do think I'll do our fair again next time!Bet you will, too!! :) |

Yes Evaan it is a great feeling. My friend got me to enter also, and she went to pick it up for me because I was out of town and she said I was going to recycle your ribbon, but I figured you might want it. I couldn't even imagine giving it up. In fact I am going to hang it on my wall right now.:O) |
