Original flowers (tilted to add energy)

I always have trouble with the "artsy" side of things. So... when I spotted some flowers I liked, I tried to work with them a little differently.

All of the images below are straight from the raw converter... no editing other than the exposure and saturation controls within the raw converter.

So, are they creative...? Or just plain dumb?

I like them david. My only nit pik is that they all have a flat and greenish tone to them? They are dynamic in movement, and I like that, but flat?

I hadn't yet tried doing anything with the pictures (beyond converting from raw). So here's a first stab at editing one of the images... does this fix the flatness?

I'm not a big fan. Makes me dizzy, and I really can't look at them for more than a couple seconds.

I really like your edit, and I think of the un-edited ones the third one in the series is the coolest becasue it shows mostly just the flowers and the green. All the others seem to have some of the dirt or some other texture in the background which I think detracts from.

I don't remember the name of the guy, (he's a member here) but he has some really cool flower shots. If anybody knows, he would be great to look at for some 'artsy' flower inspiration.

word... kinda makes me a bit dizzy. But the important thing here is whether you like 'em. Well? Do you?

I'd like to see these with a blurred background only, leaving the flowers static. I think you're going in a nice direction, but I have to agree with the earlier comments that they're hard to look at for very long.

All of these shots were long (close to 1 second) handheld exposures. I then either zoomed the lens or rotated the camera to get the motion blur. In other words, the blur was done "in camera" (not in photoshop).

So to get a sharp flower with a blurred background I'd have to go back and reshoot. :-(

But thanks for the comments, they are appreciated!
