I am looking at purchasing a domain name and obtain a service where I can post my photos. My goal is to post a few hundred photos from different events and be able to have the viewers purchase the prints they see online. What I am looking for is:

What service should I look at for displaying that many photos?

Are there companies who will print and ship the photos once they are ordered through a link on my webpage?

I have found many inexpensive domain companies and I don't think that will be a problem. I see some people purchase a domain and then have it forwarded to their PBASE.COM gallery once it is entered, or other similiar sites. Any suggestions would be helpfull.

This question has been asked and answered several times recently. This is one of them that lists some others. It's not that you are being ignored. Also it is a holiday weekend in the US so you might get more responses when people get back home.

the gallery software inclueds the option to order prints from a number of online services, photoworks and shutter fly in the US plus over seas options

i am a big fan of HASWEB
serveral websites myself or my husband webmaster are hosted there including subdomains.
The cheapest (which will probably be ample for your needs) is 34.95 a year with Disk Space 500 MB Bandwidth 10 GB/ month and all those things that the other cheapies dont give you like fantastico, shopping cart, my sql, php, frontpage access etc (Some people pay 50 a month to have some of these programs included in thier package).
They are extremely fast with customer service responces, they always have a man in the know active on thier forums. Also, if you do fine art nudes, they are fine with nudity.

And i don't get a referal, so THATS how much i like them hahah.
Oh, and Active domain home of the 9.95/yr domain name.

Thank you for the information so far, I have been looking at the many hosting services. Maybe what would help now is ideas of how people have set-up their sites. I've seen some very nice pages from members. Any suggestions would help.

I went simple and clean...well in my opinion.. //www.sabphotography.com and used Front Page. Did frames to keep the menu on the side and images in the middle, set up a table, hid the borders and inserted the images. You could also use the very basic (can't change much) Adobe Photoshop Automate web gallery thingy...I used it here. //www.sabphotography.com\gardens and here //www.sabphotography.com\babyk (notice this does an auto slide show) so there are a few options to it.

A friend just referred me to //www.mambohut.com but I haven't looked deeply into it yet, check out the demo and gallery, really cool.

Good luck

p.s. I use //www.hosteazy.com for my web hosting.
