What time do you all think is a good meet time? I think they open at 10 and admission is free between 10 and 12 on saturday. Also is it better to meet inside the gardens so we don't have to wait for latecomers outside? Any thoughts ?

I was thinking that 11 o'clock somewhere in the gardens may be an appropriate time. However, I am not familiar enough with the BBG to know specific places, so if any of you do or have a map and would like to mention a couple possible places to meet at that would be greatly appreciated. Lets try to finalize these details within the next two or three days.

Thanks,
Lee

I've been to the BBG a few times, but not lately. My store is close by so I'm planning to stop there tomorrow to get an idea of a good spot to meet. I'm thinking the Japanese Garden which I believe is near the entrance, but I'll let you know what I find.

I really doubt I'll be able to make it...but I think the best meeting spot would be outside the park. It will probably be crowded as all hell inside. The entrance to the park that is next to the Brooklyn Museum and the Museum/Garden parking lot is probably the best. It's more "open" than the other entrance.

If I'm awake enough after getting in from vacation at midnight the night before than I will of course try to be there. I hope I can make it, but if anything I'd probably try (for myself) for that Sunday, or maybe even during the week sometime.

Anyway, I look forward to tomorrow!!

I went to the Botanic Gardens Sat. to get an idea of where a good meet spot might be. It's really beautiful! The Gardens are behind the Brooklyn Museum which is a great photo op in itself. Maybe we should meet in front of the Museum at 11AM by the steps next to the fountain (more like a water dance than a fountain) and for those who are not on time 11:30 by the Japanese Pond inside the Gardens. The 2 and 3 train exits in front of the Museum on Eastern Parkway. There is an entrance to the Garden around the corner on Washington St. The Japanese Garden/Pond is straight ahead from that entrance, very close. Remember, admission os free between 10 and noon, after that its $5.
Any thoughts? Suggestions?

11AM in front of the Museum at the fountain sounds good. Do you have a map that you can link to and just point out where this is in relation to the major highways/other entrances.

Remember people --- To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late and to be late is to be left! (or you can just meet us at the Japanses Pond ;) )

Once you get back to me Charmayne PM me and we'll split up the original group and PM them all of the info! Gonna be fun!

directions
We can meet by the fountain 11AM:
and then at the Japenese Garden/Pond inside the Gardens at 11:30:
Washington St. runs alongside the Museum to the parking lot where there is an entrance to the gardens. Once you go inside that entrance walk straight following the signs to the Japenese Pond about 50 ft, you can't miss it! It may be crowded inside due to the festival, but we will find eachother and I'll provide my cell number in case you need it.

I hope everyone can make it! The Botanic Gardens is located in a great part of Brooklyn between the Brooklyn Museum and Public Library, the Prospect Circle Monuments (Civil War Memoreal) and Prospect Park! The surrounding neighborhood is an eclectic feast of architecture and photo ops for anyone interested in an extra walk about while you're here. Be prepared for lots of photo taking!
Rooster and LeonJR, can we add you to the list so you have the info in case? We're going to PM everyone on the list so they have specific info in case your thinking about joining us! Anyone else? Nikoli1024??
