I have some thoughts for the next challenge here on DPC. I have put some time into these and feel they would bring about some potentially great photography, and I am always open to your thoughts on the matter.

* 'Open Sores' – These could be outstanding! Ranging from your run-of-the-mill cold sore to your full-on, no-holds-barred herpes outbreak. Up close and intimate macro shots of some puss-dripping, sore-breaking action or perhaps a wide-angle overview of a ruthless infestation. I personally cannot wait to see what sort of sores everyone has.

* 'People I’ve Killed And the Places I’ve Hid Them' – You just know there are some wackos out there with digital cameras, and I want to see your work! Show us the subtleties of your technique, your methods, and of course, how to dispose of the paper trail! And please, no crime scene photos, I want to see originality here.

* 'My Ugly Girlfriend/Boyfriend' – God knows people like taking pictures of their significant others and showing them off like they are the next Audrey Hepburn when in fact they’re more like a Rosie O’Donnell crossed with Bobcat Goldthwait. “Awww look how cute my nasty, 600 pound, 4-toothed girlfriend is! I just met her in an AOL chat room. Her name is 1hotchick679. I don’t know what her real name but man she’s a cutie!”

* 'That Person’s Face Is Out Of Focus And Blurry And Tilted Because I’m An Artist' – Show us the depth of your inability by taking the worst possible photograph and expecting people to heap praise upon it. What the hell is that? A table? A baby? An aerial shot of Nebraska? Who knows!

* 'I Am Hot And Here’s My Amazon Wishlist' – Cam it up for us here and see how much crap nutjobs will buy you. Warning, though, if you’re not hot, you’re going to be disqualified!

I am sure we can as a community come up with more interesting and challenges that show our unique talents! Let me know what you think!

I like the "your worst possible picture" challenge, that's a really fun idea.

We'll probably get people complaining that the resulting submissions were "too good" and thus didn't really adhere to the challenge wording :-)

If you don't take it with an outstretched arm or use a mirror, it will definately get criticized.

that's funny shortredneck, I can see the comments too:

"that can't possibly be your worst picture! what we're you thinking? you're adhering to the rule of thirds, it's in focus, and you're exposure is close to perfect! i'm giving you a 1!"

you have to admit it's a jean claud van damm fun site to hang out on

Even before I saw mikeys_bistro's comment I was thinking that a deliberately bad photo competition would be fun... submit something so bad that it's good! May the worst photo win!

As long as we're at it, let's create a program that will generate random subjects?! Heaven forbid. . .
