Recently bought this camera and am still testing with it. I decided not to get a digital SLR due to its size which can be inconvenient while travelling.

Any good tips on shooting at night with this camera? Trying to keep ISO down - are there standard settings for a clear night sky?

Thanks

It depends on how much light you have (of course). Check here for information on how to judge the relative level of light available under different settings.

If you are wanting to capture a subject under just moon or star light, I'm sorry to say that your camera (and mine for that matter) is not capable of handling light that low. If, however, you want to shoot under street lights or such, there is a chance -- although, subjects lit by street lamps would likely require a 1/4sec to 4sec exposure at ISO100, depending on aperture. I hope they won't be moving much.
