|Probably not a good idea at all. Which is a shame as she's an amazing photographer and one of my favourites. Sadly, these days, society is just too close-minded, fearful and likely to spin into mindless lynch mobs at any moment. Certainly not the type of society I want my children to grow up in. Unlike GeorgesBogaert, I don't find her images to be provocatively staged at all - in fact, quite the opposite. I think they are very natural photographs of Mann's family life as it was in 80's. The French photographer Alain Laboile does a similar thing currently, documenting his family life in the south of France. But, I do agree it wouldn't be a good idea for DPC - apart from the controversy, as Lydia says, it's also quite restricted to those who have families (kids or ill husbands) or those who have access to corpses. |
