I'm looking for a lightweight, compact, ball head, quick release, travel tripod. I currently have a manfrotto...love it but it's just to tall for travel (or rather I know there are shorter ones available now...wink)
Nnnnn go!!!! |

What kind of camera? I use a Tamrac Zipshot for travel, but it only has to support an Olympus PEN or Canon G7x. |

I didn't think the Zipshot would be a good choice for you. Funny, everyone else seems to be going to bigger cameras and lenses while my cameras are shrinking. |

For what I do (wildlife) a good long lens is very helpful...especially when your eye to eye with one of these!!!
The further the better...wink |

I just ordered THIS one from amazon...
I'll let you know how my Niagara trip goes using it. I wanna be able to use it with my 80-200 f/2.8 lens but don't expect much from it. We'll see... I'll let you know when I get back how it held up. ;)

Why aluminum vs carbon? Pricing is competitive at that price point...I'm having trouble finding the right plate...as I don't feel like replacing mine...and I don't want 2 different tripod plates either...that's just a pain. |

Why aluminum vs carbon?
I'm gunna be completely honest... Because I ran out of time to research. I leave Thursday morning and I wanted to give myself an extra day cushion in case it didn't come in on time.
Lol. |
