Who agrees?

Sorry for all you patriotic ones! But America has been fundamentally changed from within, it will never recover!

We "recovered" from a Civil War which killed more men than all of our other wars combined. But I suppose it depends on what you mean by "recover" ... and whether shedding parts of an imperfect past might not be beneficial in the long run.

This is a blow, but we have recovered from far worse.

I'm not gloating just stating, there's a difference, people hate the truth, when the truth is not what they want to hear!

Like I said, I'm not with Trump, or Clinton...so why would I want to gloat, it's facts I'm interested in!

And another thing, I love America, but I don't love how much it's changed!

Neat, dear, you don't know us very well. We pick up the pieces and carry on.

I agree that we had to make a choice between two bad candidates. I personally think Trump won because enough people are tired of the elites ruling Washington. I would have been concerned about our future regardless of who won. Now it's time to wait and see what happens. Trump might turn out to be the best thing for our country, or we might have WWIII.

Surely you are not suggesting that Mr. Trump does not qualify as an "Elite"... I for one do not buy into the belief that he is "Just an ordinary guy"

I also harbour a great deal of reservation that he will turn out to be the best thing for your country and most definitely hope that you are wrong regarding the tail end of your comment.

Perhaps we can hope that the two parties can actually put aside their partisan rhetoric and actually work for the betterment of the American peoples.

And yet they re-elected all but one Republican Senators, some of whom have served several terms already.

we wont have world war III. We may have just have another civil war. We really should be two countries but its not geographically or economically feasible.

We were on a path of being less selfish humans, learning to be more tolerant and accepting, trying to make the world better for everyone, not just white American males. They took "their" country back and now the progressive half will attempt to take it back from them.

Its going to get really ugly.

Hillary's biggest campaign mistake was to call Trump supporters "deplorables." I really believe the election was tipped by economic inequities and crimes on the part of the establishment. As well, the press and many pundits chose to ignore what they couldn't or wouldn't see. An apparent imbecile was smart enough to play to the gallery.

We tremble and hope for the best.

I'm all in favor of not having WWIII!

Trump is wealthy, but he is not part of the political left elite. Politically, he has not been bought or bribed (that I know of).

Yes, most of the Republicans were re-elected to Congress. I wish there had been "outside" candidates running as I would love to sweep all the long-established politicians out of Washington. We do need some with experience, but the current group (R and D) mostly disgusts me.

It's happened. I'm willing to give Trump a chance. See who he really is, not what the media makes him out to be.

Let's just hope "who he really is" isn't the guy on the bus when he doesn't think the cameras are rolling.

And yet during the campaign he bragged about how he had "contributed" money to politicians (including Mrs. Clinton) presumably for the purpose of attempting influence their decisions in his favor.

Though that was before information about the Trump Foundation and the Florida Attorney General became known -- I'm sure he was advised to avoid the subject after that.

Look at his record over the past 15-20 years and you'll see he's changed his position on nearly every issue of substance.

The man on the bus? Either he's guilty of sexual assault or he's a liar, though in this special case it's entire possible you CAN have it both ways ... :-(
