Not sure what to think about my score. Should I really be hoping to come out on top in this challenge? I mean if I end up doing well at creating an image that is technically flawed, what does that really say about my photography? ;-)

Anyway...

My image is about as flawed as you can get, and the score tells me that it's a bad entry, which raises the question of whether the "least-flawed flawed image" will win, LOL. It certainly won't be the most-flawed, because i'm at or near the top of that category and am barely over 4.0 at this moment :-)

I think one issue is what people consider a flaw. I showed my photo to a friend and they weren't sure what the flaw was. Yet I had forgotten about the challenge, loved the idea of the photo, but had decided it wasn't a keeper, because I felt it was flawed. So when looked back to figured out what challenges were active, I was excited. Because, something I had decided to discard had suddenly become a great option.

If I didn't throw away my "bad" photos due to space limitations, this would be a really fun "Hidden Flawed" challenge. Don't go back and find your best photos. Go back and find the photos that you thought were flawed, but really have something special in them. Since my tastes are so mainstream, there are many times that I don't recognize the good in things on first or second glance. When you take way too many shots of the same thing, it's too easy to get rid of things quickly.

This is similar to how I ended up participating as well. Actually, it was about 15 minute til when I noticed the challenge. And I do think the image looks cool aside from a few technical issues. So why not? ;-)

Also, my score has dropped some. So maybe there's hope for me yet. ;-D

Nothing is perfect:) I'll look at them that way.

Oh my. There are a couple that would really suck in a regular challenge, but that are brilliant when looking through this "flawed" lens. What an eye opener! I need to go back through all the just finished challenges and find the best flawed photo. Over the years I've learned to look differently at abstracts. But it's hard to look past flaws, at times. Especially on the more straight forward photos. Intriguing...

Haha! I just realized that I have no idea if my 5.5 means that my shot isn't good enough or isn't flawed enough. :)

Since it's early on, I'll challenge people to comment 100% on their thoughts when viewing the photos.

I have to admit that I'm not sure how I'm gonna vote yet. On the one hand I see some shots that are really flawed, but then there are some that have minor flaws that from and artistic standpoint are quite stunning to me. I believe I will ultimately end up giving the higher votes to the later.

That's why I challenged people to comment. Once I started thinking about the comments, I realized just how deep a hole this could be. There are so many ways of looking at it, and they're all interesting. So it would be cool to see how people are approaching it. :)

Ha! I just gave a 10 for something that I hope I would have given a second look to in another challenge, but, to be honest, I'm not quite sure.

Starting the commenting process and it's fascinating. :)

I think that you should be very careful when awarding a 10. Remember that according to the rules, all 10s should be awarded to WonderDude. So you need to be sure that it's my picture before you award that 10. ;-)

Crap!! With all the rule changes on the horizon, I forgot about that one!

During the final hours I considered withdrawing as I had looked up the definition of optical aberration in photography. I didn't have a replacement taken within the time frame so I've just gone with it. I'm surprised I don't have any DNMC comments!

Not voting yet.

There are so many images that I like, and I do know why. I like incomplete stories, or strange stories. We are prone to beautify all interesting and/or broken parts of an image into nonexistence before submitting it.

You have rated 55 of 55 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 55 images (98%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.8182.

So why does it say that I only commented on 98%. When there are only 55 images in the challenge?

Anyway, I still have no comments. Someone please comment on my photo. Thanks!

Well, I guess I'm still the only one with no comments! :-(

Have really struggled to vote on this! It's like I have to listen to good angels and bad devils fight over the challenge rules and the overall effect. I have commented on about a third of the the images and when I have regained my composure I'll try and finish the rest!
Have I covered yours yet Wonderdude?

Ha! Finished voting and have given out over a 6 average. That's unusual from me. I think I like flaws.

Only at 15 comments out of 55, because of being gone and bad migraines. Sorry folks.

Thank you for all the lovely folks who decided to comment on this one.

I've got a very long-winded half-baked lame excuse for not commenting, involving a dirt road trip, broken caravan and a shoe-string budget..... PM me if your shoulder is ready for tears.

I really liked this challenge.
