Real or abstract. Advanced ruleset. Or maybe (we've been very good) Expert.

Lydia said and I quote From the Abstract Landscape thread, just in case somebody missed it.:

"Oh... YES!!!

This is perfect!

Gets my two top image topics out of the way all at once! (I don't do landscapes or abstract.)

I am...

So pumped!

The next topics are... for SURE gonna be Frogs and Toads!

I'm toadily pumped!

:) "

Good one Annie.

Yes, well at first I LOLd but then I realized how much fun it would be to vote Frogs & Toads, real, plush, imaginary, abstract, cooked...there are so many possibilities. "D

If it was not winter I would be all for this challenge. I was out Saturday shooting gators and looking for frogs and even with the really warm winter we having I did not see one frog. My only option would be a trip to the zoo or some other place to find frogs in captivity.

Think of Rubber Ducky challenges. And don't forget those lovely plastic frogs & toads in the toy section of the store. Very lifelike. It is possible to pose them in places a live one would never go. If they would let us have Expert editing, that would be so nice, but I don't have any hope of that.

As a wildlife photographer I am not sure I could photograph a toy animal, there are not many challenges that are designed for wildlife.

You know, come to think of it, there are not many challenges that are designed for wildlife. (even if in captivity).

Good thought, there, Kobba.

oh, yes. and toads and frogs are "wildlife" Lydia. Honest, they are.

I totally agree that frogs and toads are wildlife.

I do not have any as "pets".

If I have one for a model, it's because I legitimately found one during the challenge topic.

That's part of the "sport of it" for me.

:D

Sure... after years, I know good places to look. But, I don't ever keep them as pets or actually know where they will be.

It's "hit or miss".

I vote for Spring for this challenge topic.

But... then I'd ask for it to be... Frog or Toad as a Sports figure... or... Frog or Toad serving a five-course meal... or... Frog or Toad doing laundry... or...

Ha. :D

Topics should be generally accessible. We have no frogs or toads in January. How about a "fantasy" editing category. Then we could create our own.

I have a backyard full of them, but right now, they are in hibernation. In season, I would be all for it.

I'm amazed! I not only thought you kept toads as pets, I thought that you trained them. :-)

In some part of the world it is frog season and I'm sure they would jump at the chance to do a challenge that they could do that the other half of the world couldn't. Most challenges do seem to favor the Northern Hemisphere and some of the frogs in the Southern half are a lot more colorful than ours.

Ha!

If that were so... my laundry wouldn't be all piled up about now.

I'd have those guys doing it.
