Remember, we want the relationship between the latin name of the third hare on the right, on the second terrace from the top, behind the fourth grass knob and the farm where the wood, used as scaffolding when the dam was built, came from.

After waking up, and considering this, I'll have to go with pegmetite. Gorgeous in any case. Love the late stage crosscutting vertical dikes.

can i jump in and ask cory about this, saw it the other week up in northumberland some serious heat and pressure been involved

Still looks like a big old pegmetite to me.

Although guessing from pictures is super hard and unreliable at best.. ;-)

This is Santorini, near Thira. That's old mining activity, where they mined PUMICE and ships carried it to the Middle East to build the Suez Canal (and of course a bunch of other things. THe Gov't stopped the mining finally because it was destroying the Island. Apparently Santorini is the only place in the world where the towns are built inside a volcano's caldera.

I knew it was Santorini but didn't get around to posting when I got home from school.

Anyway, I have to correct you there - the caldera of Mt Aso in Kumamoto has several towns in it.
