Im sure we will have another real soon, shame because I was looking forward to meeting you.
Maybe make the next one in Cambridge, its a very interesting place and excellent for street photography.

You going to bring your dog?

Yeh, always another day :)

We did meet before at the last GTG in May 2008.

Not been to Cambridge so that would be something I would be interested in.

Brilliant!

April 12th as Sunday is kinder for travel expenses and parking etc etc.

I suggest we meet up southside of Tower Bridge (Queens Walk) for between 11.30am and 12 noon if that fits everyone's availability ...
We can then head towards Big Ben stopping at Bourough Market for a spot of lunch.

Last bump as a reminder! See you Sunday then!

Thanks Paul. And I've got myself a 10-stop ND filter, hope I can make some nice long exposed shots.

Good idea. Nice view from just under Westminster Bridge looking towards Big Ben etc that I used my 10 stop ND filter and you can lean camera on wall too if no tripod

Yea, i'm sorry i couldn't make this as it sounds like it'll be a fun day and it would be great to meet some more DPCers in the flesh. To date i think i've only met one.

That's good to know and somewhat stops my Leica camera lust. Of course, i've still got my Leica lens lust to deal with. I actually bought one the other day but the shop made a mistake and sent a different Leica lens instead. It was terrible - one of the worst lenses i've seen in my life so i sent it straight back and got another lovely Zeiss lens instead which is superb. Still got the lens lust for the better Leica lenses but it did open my eyes about not all Leica lenses being good.

Which was the bad one Clive?

I was looking for an m-mount wide in the 25-28mm range and after researching a lot about the problems a lot of them have on the Sony i read that some of the older pre-asph tend to do a lot better and i really liked the sound of the Mandler designed 28mm Elmarit version 3 from the 1980's so i ordered one of those. Unfortunately the shop had made a mistake and had already sold that one and accidentally sent me an older, quite battered 28mm Elmarit version 2 from the 70's and it was terrible. Not sure if it was because of the battered condition or that the version 2 doesn't have a very good reputation anyway. It was pretty unusable wide open to 5.6 or so. Everything a blurry mess. So i sent that right back and went with an earlier plan of getting a Nikon mount Zeiss 28mm f/2 Distagon. It was one of my initial plans but then i started having second thoughts about the size and weight but now it's arrived it really isn't too bad. It's still lighter and slightly shorter with the adaptor than the new Sony 35mm f1.4 for example. It's a really lovely lens and i'm glad it's the one i ended up with to be honest.

Of course, that experience hasn't put me off Leica lenses. I love my 75mm f2.5 Summarit but am having some thoughts about something faster. That 75mm f1.4 Summilux looks mighty fine!

Great day really nice to meet up we had a brilliant time. Didn't even take a single shot with the 75, spent all day using the tiny little vintage lenses.

Unfortunately we didn't meet Warby. we don't know whether we missed each other, or that he wasn't able to come.
Had a good day, great weather, lots of coffee and tea and we took some pictures as well.
