Anybody up for another round of photo essays? Any ideas to make this more appealing?

For me, t's been and an interesting, challenging and rewarding exercise. We've been doing these every other month starting back in January of this year. I'd like to keep this side challenge going.

Jeez...I said way back in March or whatever that I was going to give a prize for my favourite and I never did get round to it. It's been an incredibly hectic 6 months or so. Anyway, things are quieting down a bit now so I'm in for the October challenge and will attempt to honour my previous promise.

Probably best to go back and look through what DPC members have done in the past. It's more about what you are looking for than what we are. Illustrate a concept, tell a story, show us your unique vision... Take this in any direction you want and have fun.

This may help.

I have not participated previously, but I will take a look at the history and may just give this a shot.

Here's a nice place outside of DPC to view some essays.

We did not have a September essay.
If we call this OCTOBER PHOTO ESSAY shall we consider to post until Oct.31?

I'm thinking set a deadline for Oct 31. Then aim for Dec 31 to wrap up the year. If this works out we'll continue with a 2 month window for each challenge.

Elated to hear you will continue this side challenge. The previous ones have been
challenging and a terrific learning experience.

I'll give it a shot Henry. Thanks.

Thanks Henry, I'll give it a go.

Looking forward to seeing everybody's work. Let's shoot for October 31 as the deadline. I'll open another forum on the 30th for submissions. History has shown us that we receive more comments and views when we have a deadline.

As previously stated, to keep this forum manageable, we do request that you link your essay to a DPC thumbnail. This works as a cover image so comments, regarding your entire essay, can be left in one place. Your actual essay can include images on DPC or other websites as long as they are yours.

We'll keep this thread open for discussion.

Lol! No pressure, okay.

OK Henry, I'm finished mine. And not an elephant in it, either. Actually it's political, and probably illegal. But I've used a nom-de-lens for my own protection. Called myself "Henry Foster". That should throw the secret police off the scent.

I'm allusive, as my essay will show, so no problem. I've had death threats before because of my name. No kidding! They thought I was this guy Henry Foster probably because I was living in Washington, DC.
