I entered an image in the free study last month. Granted, I didn't shoot SPECIFICALLY for the challenge, but as I was going through some of my photos, I chose one.
Here is what I entered:
It scored above my overall average, and higher than my Free Study average, so I'm happy with the score (mostly). I didn't expect it to ribbon or be in the top ten, especially for a Free Study. But, I would like any thoughts/advice/critiques on how I could have bettered this image (in general).
Here's the original:
Anyone? What would you have done?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!!

I think you did well with processing and cropping the image. I might have cropped more off the left and give it more of a square format.
The direct overhead light didn't do you any favors.
As for the score, probably come off as more of a snap shot. I nice moment, for sure, but still has that snap shot feel to it.
Some voters punish shots of kids and pets for some reason.
I scored it a 6. |
