Not every picture but some pictures show this black streak - I've tried a variety of lens and it still happens, so must be the camera, right? But which part or why? Grateful for any insight :)

Bare link to the image:

It's pretty far OOF, so it is probably something loose in the camera body that is flopping around and hanging down in front of the sensor. It may be attached to the mirror and that's why it shows up sometimes and other times not, and shows up in different positions, but with the same general shape.

ETA: Don't know why that image doesn't work as embedded.

Thanks for the response Fritz. I thought it was a loose part too, but couldn't figure out why it was sporadic, you have explained a possible reason why, so I will take it by my local camera shop and see about getting it fixed.. as to cause, do you think having it out and about in high temps is a problem? The issue showed up after I took a trip down the Grand Canyon with temps as high as 109 degrees? It was in direct sunlight in temps up to 100 and then I put it in my backpack because it seemed so hot to the touch on the exterior.

Looking at the samples, my first thought was:
"Well duh! Turn off the windshield wipers silly." ;)

Seriously though, if you don't see anything dangling inside the body/mirror box, then that could be something actually on your sensor.

Want to save a few dollars? Try doing a 'sensor cleaning' in your body and carefully examining the sensor surface for a giant chunk of crap. :)

Might be wrong, it is a little OOF for something actually on the sensor, but it's totally worth looking.

Camera strap? I have had it get in my way several times.

The perimeter seal/shock absorber in the mirror box, looks like to me.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Turns out it was a piece of the back of the lens body that had come off and was floating about - because it was so small it was hiding out in the perimeter a lot and only getting in some pictures - but it's gone now! :)
