Had the privilege to shoot with Lu Parker and her rescue, "Monkey". They are the cover story for current issue of The Pet Press (currently updating their digital home). That version (and the printed one ) are in b/w, which is also very cool!. This is one of those ideas that came to me right away, and we received permission to shoot on the set she works on. It was after hours, so the bg wasn't lit. Thus, I had to insert an image, which is why this isn't my FS :-)

Johanna, that is such a hoot! Love the "Odd Couple" pairing with one being the Grouch and the other Happy & Perky:-) Ah, KTLA, fond memories:-) Congrats on the excellent shot, the recognition, and sharing this with us.

Love it!! Those eyes are amazing... hers too. I had to wander a bit and explore some of your other images.. The one of Norman Lear and his pets was amazing as well. Then I found the ghosts gallery. Oh my! Beautiful and surreal!! I have to ask, did you add the ethereal kitty at the top left of the image in your blog, or did he just "appear"?

As usual, BrennanOB nailed it ... :-)

To the upper left of the window above the chiffon in this image, it looks to me like a ghostly image of a kitty.... He's at the top of the wall (where it meets the ceiling) looking out of the frame. It's probably just my imagination, but now that I've seen him, he's a major element of the image. Very cool...

Ethereal kitty

Well, the short answer is, no, I didn't add a kitty. Still can't see it, but we all see different ghosts, don' we ;-)

Thanks Leo! As a master lighter, I'm flattered.

The shoot was after hours, and they only had their (horrible) fluorescent overheads on. I used two lights in front (about 5 feet from them) with white, shoot-through, 56" umbrellas, and two hair lights behind them (about 4 feet), with small, shoot-into, reflective umbrellas. All lights were positions towards the outside, pointing inward at almost identical angles.
