next time can we pick a group that had a larger catalog to choose from, its going to be really hard to come up with something for this...

I love the Beatles and will have a hard time choosing a song title or lyric... not because of limitations to choose from, but rather the opposite.

Well this list including which album and who the songwriter was has plenty to choose from

Maybe a "Dexy's Midnight Runners" song title challenge?

essentially.

i really hate the make this comment, but these song titles ones really are. Maybe if they were geared more toward styling the image after a Beatles song, bu really everyone will just shoehorn an image to a title and with the Beatles that is extremely easy to do.

I propose a ban on "name your image after a song title or lyric challenge" and every time someone proposes one we heckle them til no end for even suggesting it.

Come on Mike. You've been here long enough to know this is what members really want, free studies disguised as restrictive challenges.

As is it's just a free study (as already mentioned by Tommy_Mac) with funny names. Should at least make it titles only, and they (photo/name combo) should be able to be quickly guessed by any random person with nothing more than the list of song titles. With the Beatles that is still a hugely broad range of possibilities.

we should start making these song threads based on the lyrics or meaning of the song.

Don't worry all you "everything is a freestudy" people.

You are more likely to see a literal shot, eg "fixing a hole" or a "yellow submarine" than a landscape entitled "love me do."

The "challenge" in DPC is just as much creative as it is naval-gazing technical. Equal parts- art requires it.

i dont know, i like to be challenged and naming your picture after a song title isn't challenging, especially from a group that has a collection as large as the Beatles.

That's the creative aspect, finding the lyric/title to fit your shoehorn ridiculously awesome photo.

"Love me do" - Covers any shots of animals, insects, or children.. Oh, or abandoned teddy bears
"I saw her standing there" - Any shot of a female
"From me to you" - Anything that doesn't fit into the above categories

I will give 1's to everyone who can't come up with something more original than Good Day Sunshine or Here Comes the Sun.

How about a nice AC/DC song title challenge!

Captured some random shots yesterday. Noticed there was a Beatles song challenge. Easy to shoehorn several images with an amazing match to a Beatles' song title. It will be hard for anyone to DNMC my entry, but I'm sure some will try.

I'm sure plenty of people will try.
funny how those who say "DNMC" are those who didn't enter the challenge.

I'm not going to DNMC any entry because you can literally shoehorn anything into this challenge, but I will vote low on the lazy entries. Sunset and sunrises won't bode well over here.

Examples of awesome lyrics to use:
'Well, you should see Polythene Pam, she's so good-looking but she looks like a man.'

'Wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door'

'Everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey!'

"I told you 'bout the walrus and me, man.
you know that we're as close as can be, man."

"He likes to keep his fire engine clean,
it's a clean machine"

My image is neither sunrise, nor sunset. But, please look at the caliber of the photography and don't prejudge, in your mind, the images.

I honestly hope you got a picture of a hunter blasting a huge hole through an elk, and have titled it "Happiness is a warm gun"... It'd go over like a lead zeppelin, but oh man would it be a great fiasco.

I'd make ghost accounts just to upvote an image like that.

Or it could be "hey Buffalo Bill what did you kill..."
