I just got my second highest score and a 5th place finish which is awesomely exciting but it still stings a little to see that a single one-off 1 vote took me from a blue ribbon score to 5th. Welp, I suppose everyone deals with these punches.

You could just as easily distribute the blame to those folks that gave you a 4. They're both equally arbitrary ways of placing blame, both equally misguided.
Your average is not any single vote, it's all of them. It's just so easy to get pulled into giving those hard knocks more import, but you gotta resist it.
ETA: Congrats on the great finish, btw.

| It wasn't me. I bumped you up to a 5 because I liked the double meaning of "Light Work" with a hand on the flash. |

I also thought that yours would make it on top because of the creativity and quality. I was talking to my wife as she was asking me how did I do so I said I am not submitting for winning, I am doing because in my eyes I feel that I had creativity and quality!

Hah yeah I thought about that double meaning, but after the fact, so I suppose I stole that 5 off of you!
And Girish, that is a great attitude to have, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't competitive. I'm here for fun, but competitive fun. I realise that the majority of my entries won't come close to winning, but I just had a "ahh so close" moment I wanted to share. |

| A high score is nice but I prefer something that gets comments. That and I really want an image with very few 5's. Low or high doesn't matter but very few 5's please :) That is the real challenge. |
