I think I made into the 1x book, Photo Inspiration: Secrets Behind Stunning Images.

In the TOC section under Landscapes is an entry for Engulfed

I did a "How I made this photo" for the Tutorial section on the site. It was about stitching several images together for a panoramic image.

I also see Ursula and gyaban are in there. I'll bet there are some more DPC'ers as well.

Good stuff.

What a lovely image of San Francisco. Congrats to you!

Ursula should have her very own book though...;-)

Just my two cents...

Looking at the preview on Amazon, it looks like Ursula wrote the intro to the abstract section. Very fitting.

...drooling over that?
if langdon spends some time, or have someone do this for him, DPC could have much better book since we have ALL those people here.

geeeeesh...!

Okay. I can't take it anymore... Leo, get off of 1x.com's ass...

A guy made an image into a highly praised book and you come and shut this thread down with yet another negative comment about the site. Get over it man. Yes I agree that you can have an opinion but when it belittles people's achievements I'm going to say something. A lovely image has been published and all you can say is how awful that site is. A simple congratz is all that is needed here.

Congratulations, David on a well earned spot into that photo book.

Well said

Leo, you already know my views on your manic anti-1xness; in this context, as in others, it's just rude. Rude, unwelcome and unbefitting of someone who (otherwise) makes a positive contribution to our community here.

what did I say so wrong...?

Thanks everyone, and Leo, I wasn't drooling, just a little self promotion and acknowledging some fellow DPC'ers for getting published.

I know 1x isn't for everyone, but then neither is DPC. Some us just like being exposed to different takes on photography. DPC and 1x are not mutually exclusive.

I have NOTHING your publishing... absolutely nothing. I feel extremely happy for those succeeds in other places. My only problem with 1x is overrated, blown view here in DPC because DPC is much better place than 1x. if something inflated like that, people like me should say something about it, because there is nothing special about it.

they don't check the authenticity of the photos, they don't have week limitation to take photos to be voted, they don't have open challenges for registered users, rather 10 spots and that's it.

1x publishes a book, big deal (again, nothing against your achievement there) what drives me crazy is langdon is sitting on his butt and not doing enough for this wonderful site he created, which has more population that includes 1x members.

for many years now I speak about 1x and its super over rated view here, people think I am an anti photography or something, I am not... I am against people who can't give enough value to DPC. I am not sure if there are talking going on at 1x about people who are getting ribbons here, which is the only thing happening here. I love to see books from DPC, I love to see other things done for the people of DPC not 1x.

1x this 1x that... enough already. talk about your success here instead, or combine your sharing with other websites as well.

and I am not getting off of 1x's ass... pretty much no one can force me to do so.

Congrats to everyone that got publish in that book, I went to see the preview on Amazon and it looks great!

It just too bad that this tread is already moving towards bashing 1X again! :(

You've got to be kidding me. There are more posts on DPC referring to 1x.com by you than anybody else; it's just unfortunate that most of them are bitter tirades. You underestimate the wearing effect it has on others. I find your attitude to be monumentally selfish and self indulgent.

More fool me for biting....

Congrats David on making it into what looks like a great book! Just ordered a copy...

@ Leo: As Paul said you make many useful contributions to the DPC community, but your endless 1x bashing is uncalled for and very unpleasant for others here to repeatedly see. You are free to keep it up I guess, that is if you want to continue to look very silly and insult a lot of people at the same time. Please just get over it already!

My copy came in yesterday. It really is well done and a lot of good info about how the images were taken and processed.

Here's the Amazon link if anyone is interested.

Some won't be, I'm sure. ;-)
