For the fourth year in a row I am organizing the Annual Microstock Survey. Last year we had well over 600 responses, hopefully we can break the record again this year. The survey is for anyone involved in microstock photography, no matter their portfolio size.

Please share the link with others. The more answers we get, the better and more interesting the data will be.

To see what was done with previous surveys, do a search for survey on the MicrostockGroup blog

As a thanks for everyone who filled out the survey, I'll be making a radom draw (at the end of January) and giving away a ColorChecker Passport (something I've found useful while shooting the past couple years). Make sure you sign up to the mailing list at the end of the survey to enter the draw. If the winner isn't a photographer they can substitute the prize for something else of equal value.

Have you considered doing a survey of the stock companies? They usually publish the total number of pictures and photographers, but maybe you can squeeze out some more data on their contributor pools, such as number with various portfolio sizes, rate of activity, etc. -- if you don't ask about money they might be willing to tell us something.

I haven't asked, but i would really doubt if they would be interested. They aren't interested in sharing stats and number with other companies. The numbers they are OK with sharing are generally published on their site (how many photographers / images etc)
