Cory, you're a beach goer... Any nice beaches for a sunrise shoot? I know that is a bit early but it may be worth it.

Definitely interested. I'll keep this on the watch list.

*shrug*

Not really, the beaches here are for sun bathing in the 10's of thousands... I most typically don't go to the actual beach, it's more about the scene that surrounds the beach for me. Dunno, then again, I prefer a beach that is natural, without people, and South Florida just doesn't have those - I'd be looking towards the Space Coast area, which has TONS of nice natural, unpopulated beaches, with surf too (the ocean here is FLAT, unless there's a hurricane or big storm).. Of course, the issue up there is that there's basically nothing else to do, plenty of natural seashore, but no real population center... *shrug*

Aside from that, there is no way in hell that you're gonna get me to meet up much before noon, I'd be in on playing late, but starting early is very much a non-preferred situation for me. :)

Lol. Wimp.

I get up for sunrise about 2 times a week. AND I'M 20 YEARS OLD!!! Name one other 20 year old that does that! Lol.

It's about 3 hours from here to Miami Beach, so I doubt that I would make the sunrise part of the adventure unless I stay somewhere nearby overnight.
The last time I was in M B was by boat. We tied up in the afternoon at the M B Marina after cruising up from the Keys on the way to the Bahamas. We had dinner at Snappa's that evening. Their sea food was good and prices were reasonable.

Waddy, I am a huge fan of seafood so I'm game for that! :)

I prefer Sat the 14th as well, largely because if we do stay out late playing, then I have Sunday to relax and rest up for the next week of insanity....

There are plenty... Actually, I'm up for sunrise fairly often, I just have no interest in doing a meetup at such an ungodly hour. :)

Dare I ask what a melon musket is?

Here's the answer to your question. That's MelonMusketeer on that video. You can also see him and his "melon musket" in the top right pic on this page from Junkyard Wars.

I was lucky enough to see it fire watermelons in person along with the President of The Dominican Republic and his head of the Army of The Dominican Republic. I won't go into details now, but the discussion that took place there was so damn funny.

Anyone else?

Is it cold up North yet?
Any more interested DPC'ers?
11/18/2011 06:29:35 PM · #42
Plenty cold up here.I would still rather be in Florida but I think I'll join the Philly GTG for sure and plan a trip to Fl in March.
11/18/2011 07:20:53 PM · #43
No, do it the other way around. I'll be in Tahiti and New Zealand in March. Besides, it will be warmer in Philly in March and great weather in Miami in January.

I was going to combine my FL trip with a stop at Phillies spring training. Unfortunately they don't play in January :(

C'mon Scooter, me or the Phillies. That's a no-brainer. See you in January ;)

FourPointX, I've got a couple of jobs next weekend so Key West then is out for me.

Sorry, Joe. I am unable to get there as well.

Good idea for a GTG in this. Wish I could do that one too.

You can! I found what I think is an unbeatable deal and booked it. Check it out

Maybe you can meet up with some DPC'ers in NZ. I don't know if there are any in Tahiti.
Part of the ad in the travel link says; " beverages with individual entertainment system and fuel surcharge. " That might leave a serious hangover.
I would like to go, but plans at this time are to be in Tn for a couple of weeks beginning the week before Christmas, so my travel cash stash will be depleted. I will save enough to make the S Florida GTG though.
