It would be vote tampering and the team would be in violation of DPChallenge.com TOS. If I found out about a team doing this I would stop the WPL immediately; the integrity of this site is worth more than a side challenge.

I suggest that teammates do NOT vote on each others photographs and vote fair on other photographs. Believe me Langdon will be looking for vote anomalies.

I know you were just asking a hypothetical question but it has happened before and Langdon took serious action.

You can just implement it using the thumbnail feature of the forums and/or bio area of your profile - it resizes it automatically, note that this is exactly what everyone else is doing currently.

Their team and yours are powerhouses. It's kinda scary to form a team when we know we're against teams composed of ribbonhogs. Now I'm off to find my come-from-behind team.

This was my conclusion too. Wendy leaves nothing to chance, the win is probably already on her profile page ;)

Winning or not isn't the point here, I'm not taking things too seriously :) I think it's a great occasion to share techniques and ideas among a group of passionate people, improve skills by doing so, and try to produce some decent work while at it. All of this in a fun and friendly mood, can't go wrong with that!

Sounds nice but it is a competition too. With 5 participants from the current Top 10 how could you possibly lose? Especially while sharing the extensive knowledge you all already have. There are no beginners in your group.
In spite of being enthusiastic at first I am considering giving WPL a miss. While I am not obsessed with winning I'd like to have a fair go.
PS Link to the current Points Race: //www.jonathaneger.com/DPCPointsRibbonRace.htm. I was wrong - 4 in Top 10, all 7 in Top 19, out of 355 who had at least 1 Top 10 entry.

Sure, it's a competition... among a few hobbyist photographers, with no prize, that don't get much visibility anyway. It's not like the winning team would win a job at National Geographic or an ad campaign for an international brand! DPC is not a "big thing" on the worldwide photo scene you know ;-)

As for the groups compositions, I accepted the kind invitation I received because I feel I can learn many things from the other persons in the team. It is of course rather selfish, but if the experience wasn't offering an opportunity to raise my skills I would have passed.

Now if you think what others do is a reason for you to participate or not, then so be it, but you may miss a good way to become better at what you like to do.

There really shouldn't be too much more to WPL (or DPL for that matter) than getting to know some of your fellow DPCers better. The competition is really just an excuse to create closer connections and share info and knowledge in a fun environment.

And seriously, I'm usually a horrible pessimist and cynic, so this should be a fairly easy attitude to embrace for others.

It may be a friendly and insignificant site but many DPCers take their work very seriously (just read one recent thread! ;) Most DPCers are very competitive. The current situation severely restricts their chances. Not to mention access to the most knowledgeable DPCers. I don't think the majority will benefit. The best ones will become better, and the not so good ones will stay put. Your team will win.

Well said, let's just have fun and so what if we know who is likely to win, doesn't make any difference to me as long as we have a laugh.
