I recall someone ( Snaffles, I think) brought up the subject of winter gloves for photographers a couple of years ago, after I had asked for advice about hiking boots. I ran across these finger shooting gloves on Adorama recently and thought it worth a mention here. Adorama also offers them on Amazon if you don't want to create an Adorama account, however direct from Adorama, you get free shipping.

Reviews aren't very good, sadly; consensus is, glove's not warm enough to be of any use.

I bought camouflage hunting gloves at Canadian Tire for $20... they work great!

Just look for hunting gloves because they will have a fold back cover for the finger trigger... most hunting / camping stores will have a good in-expensive selection

I don't remember if this is the brand I bought, but I have a couple of thoughts:

1. They're better than nothing. It's nice having some sort of covering, and I can't get my camera dials turned with regular gloves.

2. I like having the thumb fold back, as well, since it's hard to turn the playback dial with gloves on.

3. I have small hands. The pair that I bought were incredibly uncomfortable, because they had magnets in them to hold back the folded parts. The problem is, with small hands, the magnets were right on the knuckle and it hurt to bend your fingers. I had to cut the magnets out.

With all that being said, I use them whenever it's cold, because they are definitely better than nothing.
