Earth Day Smearth Day!

According to the "Terminator" movie franchise, today is the day SkyNet, having become self aware, was to attack humanity with nuclear holocaust.

How's your day going??? Seriously? Having a good day? Or does life just suck? Inquiring minds want to know.

There is some ambiguity about the date ... 3 movies and a TV series ... collectively play fast and loose with the, ahem, facts. Best I can put it together ... today ... we're history! But the day is young!

I remember "celebrating" the birth of the HAL 9000 computer from 2001 A Space Odyssey on January 12, 1997.

As did I ... celebrate, that is.

But this is the end of the f*@('ing world!!! You'd think we could get some first person personal commentary about it. Are you robbing a bank? Getting laid? Killing yourself? Come on, folks! What's up with you at this VERY moment?????

I just went out a purchased a Phased Plasma Rifle in the 40-watt range and it was a pain in the ass to fill out all the paperwork on that big boy.

Sometimes, real time events exceed science fiction fantasy. If I mention Stuxnet and Bushehr, do you know what might happen pretty soon? And, the US military industrial complex will announce a cyberstrategy soon. To say nothing of the launch of drone strikes in Libya.

I feel this is all too sobering to even think about. And, the parallels with the Terminator series is too close for comfort.

I'm headed out to photograph some nature scenes, while I still can.

Don't worry...nature will still be there when the machines take over....don't you remember? Sarah Conner was heading to the mountians because she knew she would survive there.

There was a precursor to all that, "way back" in 1970, as some of you old folks may remember:

Why do you think I live in the mountains at 8500'.

...because Canon cameras take better photos in the mountains?

Actually, I have friends with Nikon equipment...their image captures are equal or better. My "batteries" are recharged in the mountains. That's what it's all about.

I can believe that Nikons work better in the mountains because I know for a fact that they don't take good pictures in the south.

Inquiring minds want to know more about this ?!?!

What do you want to know? I can tell you it is bad ass. When I first asked the shop owner for it, he looked at me and said..."just what you see pal". It took a little while to convince him to show me what he had in the back.
Check it out here.

So much clearer now. I applaud you for having the foresight to purchase such a weapon before they are outlawed ;)

If you have one to spare, I'd gladly take it off your hands. I'm sure there will be a need for it sometime soon :D

I am going to wait for the florescent model. It only uses 8 watts but they say it's just as good.

But it contains mercury.
