By the way, if there's anyone on the "attending" list who is NOT planning to attend, please let me know. Otherwise, we waste a bunch of time waiting on folks before we start the hike, when it turns out they weren't actually planning to come. Thanks!

At this point in time, I'm planning on being there. What can I bring for the picnic?

8:30am is good for me.

Good to hear! As far as what to bring? I'd say just look at the list at the top of the page and see what kinds of things you'd like to bring that aren't already there. Maybe another dessert item? Chips?

I'll be coming in on Saturday. Not sure what time though. What time is the TGIF meet-up and is anyone coming in earlier than supper time?

Here's a proposed timeline for the weekend, since we have a bunch of things going on:

Saturday, June 4:

7:30 p.m.: Dinner at TGIF (880 Kidder Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702) I had mentioned 7:00 previously, but I'm wondering if anyone would mind if we bumped that back to 7:30? That would give me a little more wiggle room, personally... I have an event to shoot in the morning, followed by a 5-hour drive. If people can let me know that they intend to come, I'll call TGIF ahead of time to give them an approximate number of us.

Sunday, June 5:

8:30 a.m.: Breakfast at the Trail's End restaurant (just down the road from our finishing point)

9:30 a.m.: We need a few people to meet at the bottom of the trail to leave a couple cars down there... they can later be used to shuttle people back up to the top to retrieve other vehicles.

10:00 a.m.: Everyone meets at the Visitor Center parking lot... map at the top of this thread.

10:30 a.m.: Start hiking!

3:00 p.m.: Gather at the bottom of the trail for the picnic!

Well, I'm not going to compete with the wife's famous brownies, so sign me up for chips.

ETA - I can also meet at the bottom of the trail if you still need cars down there.

I'm shooting an event Sat night, and then it's a 3hr drive, so I'll definitely miss dinner. I should be around for breakfast, though.

I would imagine that we should be able to manage enough cars at the bottom of the trail from those of us going out to breakfast...? If you'd like to meet down there at 9:30, that's cool, too :) If you're coming to breakfast, we can hash it out there, I'm sure.

It looks like I will be there after all! I don't know if I'll make dinner though, but I might try to get there, if a bit late.

I'll be at TGIFridays after all. My wife found out today that (it appears) she'll still have her job next school year so I'm free to spend a little money. :)

Depending on when I get to leave work, I may be cutting it close to the 7:30 dinner time. I just booked a room at the Quality Inn attached to TGIFridays so I won't have to make a stop along the way to check in somewhere. It'll be nice not having to wake up at 4:30 am Sunday morning.

That's great news, both from Neil and Stiger... great to hear!

Wow -- three Site Council members in the same place at the same time... sounds dangerous...

I'll try to bring some tofu or veggie burgers to the bbq...anyone else a vegetarian?

I'll be staying at the Red Roof inn, which as I understand it, is close to TGIF. I'm planning on trying to make it to dinner on Saturday more or less on time. As long as I leave here by around 4pm.

I'm planning to meet Ray RayEthier at the Hotel around 5. We will then get to TGIF by 7-7:30. See you all there!

I called TGIF last night to let them know there would be around 15 of us showing up tonight. I asked them to put us at a table near very easily annoyed people.

I will bring 4 portabello burgers to the bbq, but if you want me to bring something else, I can see if I can get to the store before I leave today. Or give me some options, and I'll see if we have it around the house (better, because I have a lot to do before I leave).

Any reason to have a long lens (over 200mm) there?

Also, if anyone here's interested in buying a Rebel XT, the D80, the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, or whatever else is listed here, let me know if you want me to bring it for your inspection and/or purchase. Saves the trouble of shipping too!

Neil, you're probably safe to leave the really long lens in the car. Over the past few years, I've seen that some of our members got pics of a deer or some other wildlife, but it's rare. Once the place is packed with people, the wildlife stays out of sight.

Hey, not to turn this into a "FS" thread, but if anyone coming to the GTG wants a Canon MP980 color inkjet printer, brand new in the box unopened (I won it, and I already have one), let me know quickly. I will sell it for $125, and if I hand it to you, there's no shipping this large box (which I think would be about $25 to ship). I may stick it in the car, just in case, though I'd hate to have it sitting in the trunk all day for no good reason (unless I find a good shady spot).

You can bring a table and we'll set up the "NE PA DPC Flea Market" after the hike. :)

I actually thought about bringing along my Lowepro Slingshot 300 to try to sell, but I forgot it at home and don't want to backtrack before heading from work to the meetup.

Just got back from a fantastic GTG. Best conditions ever for shooting the waterfalls.
