Anyone see this??

TheFlashBus

If I'm reading this right it's only $99.95?!

Totally worth it.

That seems to be correct, yes... A bargain!

Saw it this morning. Could definitely be worth $99 and taking a day off.

I might make the flight down to Seattle to check it out. Joe was up here in Calgary in November and it was awesome so it would be great to check out David Hobby too.

Oooh, thanks for sharing! They will (very surprisingly) be in my city, so now I just need to figure out if I have anything going on that day.

I have my calendar set to send me an alarm Monday morning when the tickets go on sale.
Its like I'm trying to get tickets to a concert! :-p

Wow, that is food for thought! They'll be in my vicinity on April 15. Hmmm...

I'd love to go, but they are here on a MONDAY! WTH no one goes to these things on MONDAY the day after Easter!

Matt

$100 is a bargain!

Wow.
Well... request for vacation officially filled out.
hm. If any other Coloradoans attend, I'm definitely going to try and make it.

So, they'll be in LA, but I don't know about these guys. Is it a hands on workshop thing? Do they provide models. What's the deal. I read the description but I guess I'm dense...

It should be interesting. They give you a goodie bag when you are there so that could be cool I guess.

It'll be instruction, then with models (unwitting photographers). I don't think you'll be shooting models yourself. Basically, it's them putting into practice what they say and showing you how to adapt to a situation that is put before you.
I wanted to attend a Strobist one here last August I think it was but didn't end up being able to. This one is cheaper, and has McNally too. Strobist hinted that this is sorta going to be one of the last tours because he's been neglecting his family some, so there's that too.

There's another announcement pending too, so not sure what that will hold...

It'll be more of showing how to work through lighting situations.

David Hobby is all about manual flash, while Joe McNally uses TTL a lot.

If you are going to go, you should be at least familiar with off-camera flash, or a lot of it will go over your head, and it's not really focused on teaching how to use your flash.

Thanks Dave. I have a working knowledge, but I'm more interested in how they handle situations on the fly. I always learn a lot from that.

Oooh, I'm tempted!

One other thing: any idea how many slots per workshop? There's no indication. If it's too many, it may not be worth the aggravation :-)

Wow. I guess that's how they keep it so cheap!

Road trip to Buffalo! Who in Ontario is interested in carpooling? Let me know. I would like to attend.

I'm in, for sure. I could almost walk there. Got another Niagara local who's interested, too. PM me if you want to discuss.

I'm planning on going to the Buffalo one as well - but I'm 3 hours the other direction.
