There are some pretty impressive shots in the first one. I might have to give this one a go.

If that means what I think it means, that's MEAN! But bring it on! I was actually thinking of shooting my KNEE for a change: it FEELS 100 years old today and it has cute scars.

I think that does mean what you think it means. Would you like us to reek revenge, a bit of village burning would seem appropriate?

I am not, generally speaking, a vengeful person. Plus, I live in a wooden house...

Darnit... looks like all the 100+ year-old models on ModelMayhem would be painfully DNMC. :(

Edit: Nevermind, that link is just not gonna work right.

Hmm, the shiny robot sculpture won't work for this one. I guess it's another trip to the Stockyards for me.

I don't think anything on either the 405 or the 101 is over 100 years old. Just feels like that. :/

Mission Santa Barbara is over 100 years old ... 101 is also known as El Camino Real, and is the route along which the several Spanish missions were established.

You could also go to downtown L.A. -- the La Brea Tar Pits and the fine arts museum are next to one another on (I think) Wilshire Blvd.

There's a lady just down the road from me who is a hundred and one & she still works in her garden, i probably wouldn't have the courage to ask her for her photo.
Just had a look through the first challenge, if i can do anything as good as the top 40 in that one I'll be happy

Offer her some free prints for her relatives (if any).

Grandad just turned 100. I'm sure he'd be game.

She actually lives with her daughter, they live like in the middle ages it has to be seen to be believed, its the type of place were they still force feed geese in the kitchen, i'm not sure that a nice photo would go well on those charcoal walls, wooden crosses would be way better.
Anyway i try to keep a low profile i'm still a foreigner in these parts.

Don't know exactly where you are Deb, but I always had it in mind to visit Heritage Square Museum with it's one street of old Victorian Homes/19th century homes. Then of course I moved away over a decade ago so never got to tour the area.

Good tips! Wonder what the tar pits look like at night. I've never been but can't get there during the day. Will see if I can get out to visit if not to shoot.

The museum closes, but the biggest pit is right out in the open, with some (model) animals (mastodons, etc.) on display; you'll just have to shoot through/over a fence.

I'm in! I'm closer to 100 years than most, so I should recognize authenticity.
