BTW, I don't have a clue how to use "grunge brushes". Would any of you have a link for a good tutorial about this? And possibly where I could get some of these brushes?

So ... with Royalty free images like those of the LofC, you can alter them at will (do whatever you want with them)?

You're welcome! Actually, I should have said the old LofC images are so old they are public domain, therefore free use, and royalty free. Some of the special collection images are copyrighted by the collection owner, but LofC is pretty clear about this. Here is the link to the online catalog. I particularly like the daguerreotypes. There is a lot of wonderful stuff there just to browse through!

Looks above, wow some nice work - going to have to come back later and leave comments.

An old photo that no matter what I futzed with I was never happy with the result...until I took another photo with texture and overlayed it at the Differance setting. Source photos shown in the composition notes.

Hey anyone who isn't doing the homemade landscape challenge! I just need someone to take a look at my photo, and help me decide if there are any last touches I need to do to it. I have been staring at it too long and need a fresh set of eyes. Just send me a PM.

GOOD GRACIOUS!! What a fabulous start. I am loving this so much. It's funny because I was madly working on an image with tulips and script and brushes, not knowing that you'd discussed it earlier or that salmiakki had done one. Mine has a different feel, so here goes:

Just a bump on my question. :)
