Can we please have a remove from fav button on the image page... right now there is an add to fav button only. Preferably it should toggle depending if this image is in your fav already but I understand the extra lookup might hurt, so just an add/drop from fav with the link on add/drop would be cool.

The existing method is REALLY annoying... You have to find it based on name which is a big hassle if you have more then a few.

You could do the same with photographer if you like to be consistent but not a big deal either way on that.

so you're the one that un-fav'd me. *sniff* *sob*

Probably more to the OP's point, only provide the add to favourites link if an image is not already in the list. Removing a fav can always be done as it is now, through the manage favourites section of your profile.

While you're at it.

Please add a Comment Not Helpful check box to our images.

Not checking the Comment was helpful checkbox doesn't really say that the comment wasn't helpful.

I thought the op was saying that it was a pain removing it the way it is now...

You were my second guess -- especially after I saw you letting the air out of my tires! :P

First your tires, then your ego! :o)

lol. But you're wrong -- it was the other way around. The tires were just adding insult to injury.

There should also be a notification email sent to the image owner when it is unfav'd - something like " robs hates your image all of a sudden. He used to love it but now it sucks and is dead to him. Just thought you should know. Have a nice day." Or something like that.

And if a photog is unfav'd, there should just be a big virtual loogey on his/her profile page and some red text that says " robs was here" (or whoever)

Features like that should liven the place up a little and maybe spur some more angst and controversy in the forums - something sadly lacking lately.

Art you are so right - I think this may generate a lot more ranting and raving which, as you correctly point out, is missing these days.

:-)

We all know that more ranting and raving is needed. But I've lost favs due to people being kicked off and their profile being deleted. That's even more interesting! They should also tell us things like "another one of Art's ghost accounts has been discovered and eradicated. Long live the ghost busters!"

Yeah... I find removing a PITA which is why I am asking for a remove button with the add button (or instead if it's in your favs). It's pretty easy code to add a second button and only slightly more code to flip based on if it's in your list already (granted as I say might not want the lookup hit)

Bottom line - I would prefer not to remove any favs (I have a stack) but..... I look thru favs regularly for ideas and when I'm board and whacking great watermarks over the middle of the image annoy me and detract from what I want. While the majority seem to like them, I don't want to see them.

Edit: To Art's point... Maybe that will not help this discussion but it is what it is for me :-)
