I would also like to nominate PGerst. This person has spent many many many hours explaining things to me both on the boards and off. He is patient and friendly and always always puts his best foot forward.

I second that nomination! Hes so helpful and always willing to take extra time to make sure you understand!

I would like to nominate cynthiann.

She is such a great person here on DPC. Her PP side challenges gave people new insights and motivation on PP. Everybody was a winner there.

She is the one who had given me this membership, the best gift I have ever received till date.

Thank you once again..

Regards
Midhun

I would like to nominate SDW, Scott for his time and effort spent on giving us the DPC User Rankings > 2010 DPC USER RANKINGS

This is no mean effort and is much appreciated by us all so lets give Scott a huge 'thank you'.

Plus of course he is an all-round stand-up guy who is always ready to help and who'm I consider to be a friend for many years even though we have never met.

I also re-nominate Melethia. I know it's been done before, but she deserves another one. I believe she gave a camera to someone who needed something positive at the time. Not to mention 30,000 comments given to 15,000 received.

I nominate ja-9 for her extraordinary efforts in commenting on challenges. Her stats say it all:

# Made: 11,405
# Helpful: 9,696
# Received: 1,486
# Helpful: 1,485

For someone to give eleven thousand comments, while on receiving fourteen hundred comments, show a level of dedication to giving feedback that's truly outstanding. That's a 7.7 to 1 ratio of comments given to comments received. I don't know of anyone who comes near that type of ratio.

...and we are back!

If you know someone who has gone out of their way to help others, either here at DPC or in life, you can nominate them either here in this thread or by sending me a private message.

We are essentially following in Prash's foot steps. The members of the panel are unknown to each other. A nomination and a second is needed. When we have three nominees the names will be submitted to the panel. If you have ideas for improvement, please contact me with those as well.

SUPER COOL!!! ambaker, thank you so very much for taking up this cause.

I guess since I dredged this thing up, I too should be willing to help a bit ;).

I certainly didn't want the lead here, but if you should need anything - please do let me know.

All,

I have shared award details and judge list with Alex ( ambaker) who showed an interest in carrying this award forward. Please welcome him as the new award moderator.

Thank you ambaker for taking the lead, and good luck!!!

Great Alex! Thank you for volunteering. I will be happy to email you the judge's identity. You may add more people to it per your judgment.

Lemme know if that is ok.

Thanks.

Yes it was a good idea but it looks like Prash hasn't been active on the site for about a year.

So, it's probably time for someone to inherit this idea, much like posthumous inherited his job.

Any takers?

coryboehne, or someone, please feel welcome to continue the awards. Please feel free to use the award badges (images). I just have been very busy with things in personal life. Oh and by the way, whoever takes it over, will have to use the same judges as I did before. They are anonymous to everyone but me. I can share their identity upon their consent.

[As a backup plan, I may carry on the awards management myself as before with the esteemed judges, but may not happen soon:)]

ETA: Added more info.

Still is a good idea, just need people who know other people who are doing good things to place their names in nomination.

Smardaz and TrollMan are the new nominees (please check the very first post in this thread). As soon as there is one more nominee, the list will be sent over to the judges for review/voting.

DrAchoo is already a recipient of the honorary mention award, congrats again! If there are recommendations to nominate him for the Star Award, please share references that are different from this.

Thank you all for the nominations!

As the honoured recipient of the said replacement camera, my nomination is a no brainer: DrAchoo all the way. Thank you again Jason.

Thank you.

I think we were all overwhelmed. Silence is not always a bad thing.

I was amazed how much info you had amassed for everybody in those threads. Most of them have the professional slant and I'm not ready for that yet, otherwise I would've been all over it. Your contribution is much appreciated by me, even if I haven't utilized it yet.
