I saw this on I think Good Morning America a couple weeks ago and wondered if I would be able to see it over here in Okinawa since we get some shows. Either way I think I am going to get the DVD set from Amazon (the Attenborough version, I like Weaver but I really think I'd like this better).

The first episode is done, and it was great. I don't buy many DVDs, but I'm gonna get this one.

The series is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. The only thing I HATE is that they replaced David Attenborough by that woman. Who in their right mind does that?!! Blasphemy! You simply don't mess with Attenborough.

Hopefully will come out on HD DVD... I see the regular DVD set is going for 79 bucks. I'd drop some coin for this series.

Yea I have been waiting for this for a while. IT is about time that documentary makers started learning how to make trailers that make people want to see it. maybe if this does well in America coupled with the march of the penguins maybe learning stuff will be cool again:)

It is in the UK, but according to the site above Sigourney Weaver has redone the narration for the US version.

Yeh, looks like they bought it off the BBC to show in America. David Attenborough did the original narration, I can't imagine Sigourney Weaver doing anywhere near as good a job as he did in the proper version.

I think that is really going to hold true, part of the reason that Attenborough is so good is that the subject is his life's work, he is truley passionate on the subject...also he is a really nice guy the kind that you would love to be your granddad :)

It's actually a BBC series, and is the best tv series I've ever seen. Truly remarkable in every way.

It comes out on DVD at the end of april, I believe.

I saw the ad for that yesterday and already set the Tivo to record it. 3 parts of it are tonight from 8 to 11 (EST). Looks unreal!

Seems to be available only to residents of the USA. Guess I will have to watch it on TV, assuming of course it is available.

Discovery Channel's new 11-part series "Planet Earth" begins tonight at 8 EST. If you aren't familiar with this new series, it supposedly took 5 years to create. They've captured animal behaviors that people have never seen before. It's been very highly rated.

Just thought I'd toss out a reminder to watch it. I will be!
