Sure. In the Export dialogue box, there's a Section labeled Watermarking. Clicking on the Check Box allows you to select one of your previously created Watermarks. Under the Edit menu is Edit Watermarks (How intuitive) where you can create your watermarks.

Personally, I went to Photologo and had a graphical signature created. They even modified it for free when I updated my web site address.

I've been using LR6 for a while and laggy loading aside it does most of what I need and has good integration with Topaz and NIK (albeit with editing stacked TIFFs). I looked at the new platform and I like the edit anywhere idea, but losing both your folder and keyword hierarchy for all your images when they get uploaded to the cloud is, for now, a deal breaker for me (though I gather the folder thing can be worked around by creating a bunch of collections to mirror the folder tree). I Will probably migrate eventually, but going to let others be the guinea pigs on this one first!

(PS - hi all. been away a while but this announcement brought me back to lurk at least).

I haven't played with it a ton but I did play with it some on my "sports" entry and couldn't find the advanced settings for exporting a photo.

Anyone know where I can find a tutorial on this? Or can it even be done?

Thanks.

Within Lr? Yes, I haven’t done it...but I know there are lots of people who only use Lr and not Ps at all.

2. What happens if you upgrade to PSCC 2018, copy Nik from your 2017 folder and find that it doesn't work - can you then go back to PSCC 2017?

Mary, when I was using Elements 12 it was compatible...I used NIK for years with Elements...but I can’t answer for Elements 15. I would assume it still works...

When/or if you upgrade PsCC 2017 - there is a check box that you need to check - that keeps your previous version in tact...therefore you can go get your NIK/Topaz files and transfer...this is how I did mine.

Adobe will 'absolutely continue investing' in Lightroom Classic

I agree, it's quite a lot for 1TB. If it were 10TB, it would be a deal.

I agree, they definitely don't make it very easy to follow. As far as I understood it, with the photographer option you get the LR CC (previously LR Mobile), Lightroom Classic CC (desktop) and Photoshop CC (Desktop) together with 20 GB of cloud storage. In UK this runs at £9.98per month (incl VAT). I imagine this is what most of us had earlier.

Summary of the plans

There seems to be a cloud only service, which is simply LR Cloud plus 1 TB of cloud storage (£9.98) and then a plan which includes all the versions plus 1TB of storage @ £19.97 per month (this seems very high price to me - essentially paying £120 per year for 1 TB of cloud storage (what a rip off!)

One thing I can’t find clarity on is the “ mobile app” ! At present I have the “ Photographer “subscription ( Lightroom and PS). I have also been using the Lightroom iPad app ( which I have found quite useful).

I just played with it for a few minutes, and LR Classic CC seemed significantly faster on my machine loading photos.

I have a very fast, high end machine but for whatever reason, LR seems to drag it's feet bringing up the "final" view of a photo when you browse to it. It can take 3-4 seconds or more. Now it seems to take 1-2 seconds, at most!

I haven't had time to assess what happens with a photo with lots of local edits in LR...whether or not there's an improvement there.

I have little to no interest in mobile editing though nor storing my photos on their cloud service. What I think is -- unless they come to their senses, which they sometimes do -- Lightroom Classic CC will eventually be second tier or gone, and you'll have to do things the new LR CC way, whether you want to or not.

I have been trying out On1 Photo Raw for a year, but while they advertise and talk up SPEED SPEED SPEED, I've just seen them adding features and I've never seen the speed. The only speed I've seen is not having to import to a catalog, which is nice, but it's not the speed I was looking for. Personally, I think LR was faster, even when LR was slower in the previous version. (I am also testing the 2018 version of On1....but I find I end up using it only as an addon, and not as a replacement for LR for the above reasons.)

Maybe I should more seriously test and play with Macphun's new Luminar. I am a beta for that, but was never expecting to switch to it...but it is fast!

This video was helpful. Lr Classic CC 7.0 matches my current workflow. However, I see the future potential of cloud based Lr CC.

I'm on a MacPro running MacOS High Sierra 10.13. Ps CC 2018 with full NIK Collection operational. Guess we will have NIK Collection on Ps CC 2018 for a while longer.

But what to do if you have no previous PS 2017 folder?...

Download the NIK collection again and reinstall. NIK plugins will reinstall on Lr Classic CC 7.0 and Lr 6.

I have Capture One (it came free when I bought my Sony, so only handles Sony raw files) - I'm too cheap to pay an upgrade to handle all camera types. However, when I did use it with the Sony files I really liked it a lot and was definitely considering it as a real alternative to Apple's Aperture. I found Capture One much faster to use than LR and as far as the interface and functionality is concerned I prefer it to LR. It works fine with the Nik collection.

I also have OnOne Raw/10 and I use that a lot. The FAQ on the OnOne site claims it works with Nik Collection, but I've had a lot of problems and the Nik collection just crashes whenever I try to edit. In theory it should work, so it could just be my set up. I've been testing lots of options as I really don't like the user interface of LR. The benefit of OnOne (for me) is there is no need to import files into a catalogue, so from that point of view it's quite fast to work with and some of the filters and presets are even better than Nik Color Efex.

But what to do if you have no previous PS 2017 folder? I'm about to switch from a Windows machine to an iMac. My original plan was to buy Lightroom 6, and to get an Apple license for Photoshop Elements 12 or upgrade to Elements 15 and run my NIK Collection under it for a couple of years to come. All but changing to Lightroom/Photoshop CC, because I don't need to have the latest version of the software (and that's what you're paying for), not knowing what each newer version will bring re compatibility with plug-ins like NIK.
But with Adobe's change in strategy I don't have a choice any more, except one: go for a completely different software package. Next few weeks I'll start testing some other software, like Phase One Capture One Pro 10, Cyberlink PhotoDirector 8 Ultra and ON1 Photo 10. If anyone has any experience with these programs (including compatibility with NIK), please let me know.

Not really a surprise I guess, it was inevitable since it's no longer getting updated. Sad that it happened so soon.

Correct! I agree! However, you did see that the Nik Collection functions well in Lr Classic CC 7.0 release? And, I just put it through a good test and the Nik Collection has never worked better.

Yes, saw that, so that's good news when using SEP for B&W but I use Nik Collection (particularly SEP) a lot as layers in PS in luminosity mode and thus I lose all that functionality which is really sad.

I understand! Maybe there is a workaround, although I'm sure it would be not as good as the method with which you are accustomed. You could use LrClassicCC7.0 and "Edit in" SEP for B&W. When edited to your satisfaction, you could export to PsCC2018 and maybe use layers to adjust luminosity mode.

Mostly good news.

MacOS High Sierra version 10.13
Lightroom Classic CC 7.0 Release
Photoshop CC 2018

Upgraded successfully. (Fritz, the Tone Curve section and Split Toning section are still there. ETA: on Lr Classic CC, that is. On Lr CC, there are fewer features because it is v.1.0. )
The Nik Collecton is complete and works well in Lr Classic CC 7.0. That is where I've always used the Nik plugins.
The Nik Collection is not available in PsCC 2018. Topaz and ON1 filters are still there.

My initial reaction to the upgrade is more speed and efficiency.

Will now go to check out the Lr CC cloud based photo service.
