Do the CC members get special access to lists?

Contact the SC (under Help menu) and tell them you would like to join. You will get a sample image to critique. As for special access to lists, not really...images in the queue are randomly assigned, going by most recent requests first. There are currently 8 in the queue so that means that they are all challenges that have ended within the past week. If you request older critiques you'll get images from 2 weeks ago, or more.

At one point I had the queue cleared up back to July 2014!! But I am super-busy now with the sap running, and my own business/household to look after.

You should be killer at it, Cindy! Many people here would be but don't think so are intimidated, I think. Anyway the CC needs some new eyes so it's not just me and one or two others churning them out and getting stale.

Besides, today I'm going to tap my trees so I won't be around much for the next month or so....so just saying...

Hey, the Critique Club sure could use some new members...a few good ones have dropped away recently, and I've been sick the last week but trying to get at some of the critiques in the queue. Critiques can be long or short, but so long as they are constructive in nature you really can't go wrong.

It's a great way for more experienced photogs to give back to the community.

Also, remember that you don't need to be "experienced" to offer constructive comments, and it's actually one of the best methods for becoming "better" yourself, by making you more aware of what makes a "good" picture.

If interested pm the SC and they'll send you a sample critique to write. I remember thinking that you had to have won a few ribbons before being allowed to write critiques; not so. It's a great way for more experienced photogs to give back to the community. And it's great when someone thanks you and your critiques for helping them win a challenge! :-)

So, if you're fortunate enough to have some spare time on your hands and a wealth of experinence to share with helping mentor other photogs, please think about it.
