Very much deserved, killer image James.

We DO owe a hearty vote of thanks to Don ( posthumous, who's handled this task for every jury we've been on, and done it uncomplainingly, with a smile on his face.

I'd be remiss, however, in my role as jury "chairperson", if I didn't mention the major contribution of mariuca and vawendy, who cobbled together a "reporting system" within our jury thread that allowed all of us to keep track of what was being said about every image, and that greatly facilitated Don's ultimate task of gathering and publishing the commentary.

Basically, this jury ran so smoothly I had practically nothing to do :-)

OK thats enough now
it sounds like a speech at the OSCAR event

Jan - I was thinking the same when I read it !

Love your comments - keep them coming, though not everyone will appreciate them.

Thanks very much to the jury! I especially appreciate your sharing your comments with us.

It helps me to see that there's nothing universal about art. :)

quote vawendy
no one ever worries about Wendy... When the jury went on the champagne hay ride on Wednesday night, Anita pushed me off an no one even noticed! Luckily, there was a troop of squirrels, and we stayed up all night playing poker and Chinese checkers, so a great time was had by all! :)

Thanks Bear for setting me straight... Mariuca might never speak to me again. You too. (Wendy's too far away to worry about...)

I loved the spinach comment. It got right to the pith of the matter.

Thanks to the judges for their time and effort. There were so many good pictures and I can only imagine how difficult the picking process was. For myself, I am pleased to say I found many of my favorites amongst your picks. Congrats to all who garnered their deserved prizes.
Thanks also to everyone who entered the challenge, picked through a years worth of art and came up with a worthy image. It made me so happy to view your choices.

to thank so many people for not winning this event
first of all ,i have to thank the jury who spend a considerably time
to argue among themselves as what is art
in fact, they should have placed mirrors in front of them just to see themselves
in this very serious task at hand

i am sure in about 1week nobody will remember what this august panel decided

You're on quite a tear today. If you're not careful, people will think you're upset about not winning. Or maybe they already do.

No he's NOT! LOL. It's cutout being cutout. I respect and admire him. And I love the sound of deflating balloons, I really do :-)

We did! How did you know? What I couldn't understand was why bear had that piece of spinach between his teeth -- could tell because of all the mirrors -- and STILL didn't remove it. Then I realized that it was his modern art interpretation to get us thinking. :P
