I'll just bring the cardboard cutouts - it's cheaper.

Sorry about the short notice, but it was obviously a last minute idea based on the current challenge (portrait material notwithstanding). A PNW GTG in late spring or early summer would be awesome.

Yep, sounds like Saturday would work best for most people- I could do it anytime. Frank suggested Lincoln Park and I think that could work well for a location.

So how does Saturday at noon at Lincoln Park sound? From there we could wing it.

Hmmm, if that time isn't going to work for a lot of people we could always wait for a bit to hold a GTG and give people more advance notice. We could also maybe plan a Pacific Northwest GTG and get some users from Portland and other places in on the fun.
It seems the User Portrait challenge got this GTG stuff going suddenly as a way to shoot for that, but I don't know how effective any of our portraits shot during a GTG would be anyway? I'm kind of enjoying not having to shoot for any challenges during the DPL break to be honest.
I'm still up for meeting Saturday, but would also be happy to wait a while if that would mean more people to get to meet :-)

I'm good for Sat at Lincoln Park, the middle parking lot off Fauntleroy ave has more parking then the south parking lot. Alki beach would be a good second location for lunch, Pegasus Pizza has the best pizza in town, but parking is tough on nice Saturdays. candid photos of sun bathers would be easy.

Lincoln Park at Noon sounds great. I've never been there. :)

Um. How would I recognize you all?

I have a white 2010 Subaru Outback that should be easy to look for.

I'll be in the Prius, so you'll probably see me drive right through the park. ;-)
Just kidding. ;-) I'll be the one in the ski mask. HA! Kidding again. I'll be naked. hehe. not kidding. ha, yes I am. I'll wear a white leisure suit and will be carrying a London Times newspaper. When you see me roll up the newspaper and start swatting flies - that's your signal to move in.

...WAIT! I've got an idea! Cameras! Let's all bring a camera, then we'll be able to spot each other. Don't know why I didn't think of it before.

Hehehehe..... I am having visions of two big tour buses pulling up full of Japanese (and assorted other flavour) tourists.... an ocean of cameras and much confusion over who's who and why all those weird locals are trying to chat them up ;-)

Or maybe I'm just jealous that I can't come along anymore.

Wish you could make it, too Karin.

I'd love to join you guys but already have plans. Just wanted to chime that I'd be interested in a future GTG this summer/fall. Have fun tomorrow!

Too bad you can't make it this time Carrie :-(

I'll be there tomorrow, and figure it won't be hard to spot the only other nerds with cameras at Lincoln Park...

This would be fun but I'm slammed and really can't spare even a moment this weekend. Maybe with a bit more notice.

I've got a boat on Lake Washington. It could easily hold 6 DPC folks. Maybe for SeaFair. PM me if you want in.

Looks like I'm not there today as I'm here.

But I would be up for a near future GTG!

So our Seattle GTG did indeed happen. Just a small group could make it on short notice, but all nice people and I enjoyed spending some time with them on such a beautiful day. Hopefully with some more advanced notice we can get another GTG arranged soon with lots of people- maybe for the whole Pacific Northwest.

I had a great time. Though I couldn't help feeling like we were being followed.

But I'm used to that. Looking forward to a PNW GTG this summer.

I had that strange followed feeling too....
