Interesting... I've just fired up my old Dell Windows laptop looking for an old file.
While i was poking about on it i clicked on a link to DPC, i was having a look around the site when i got to my profile.

I was totally shocked to see my image because i could see all the dust all the commentators had mentioned. I went back to my MacBook and the image looked how i had seen and uploaded it. On the MBP the watch looked more contrasty and a lot more "solid"

I've calibrated my MBP monitor in the past using a spyder but the images look completely different, what have i done wrong with the setup, i'm guessing i'm wrong as everyone could see the dust and i couldn't :-(

Please help because looking at the two images side by side it looks like i'm doing the post with my eyes shut

Thanks in advance for all the helpful feedback.

I see the dust, and lots of it. Both my monitors are calibrated. One is intentionally darker than the other so I can compare my shots because I'm getting comments that only un-calibrated monitor users could see.

I'm calibrated and see lots of it off to the right, a bit below, and a bit to the left of the watch.

Jac, Manish and Aliqui are you all running Windows machines or are you on MACs?

Thanks for the comments so far.

Might want to check out the color model. I think WIndows boxes use RGB color set and the Macs use Adobe. I'm no expert, to say the least, but ran into the differences when I was using some cross-platform, open source software. (RAWTherapee)

Maybe worth a look...

I'm on a Mac with an un-calibrated monitor and the colors are excellent, it's super crisp, and there's a ton of dust. Great shot... you just needed one of those air blower thingys used to clean out keyboards... and shiny black surfaces. ; )
