Hello people

Sadly, I have to report the passing of my dear old friend Baldrick, who brought me my only 8.

He suffered a severe bout of pneumonia apparently.

Oh, that's a pity. I hope he's gone to a better place where carrion abounds.

I can only assume he wasn't looking too carefully!

Where each bird gets to chew and poop on as many blue whale carcasses as they please.

I hope they rendered him in to chunks and threw them out for his brethren to appraise and enjoy.

Awww...the day I met RayEthier at the local library some three years ago now was the only day he was there, voting on images cause his own computer was down. He caught me peeking at the images he was voting on, and invited me to take a look, showed me the site and the site faves page...and Baldrick, full-sized, in all his looming glowering ominous glory. I was hooked.

Rest in peace, Baldrick, hope there is lots of nice smelly roadkill in vulture heaven...

Sorry to hear of his passing. Hopefully you've donated a copy of this picture to his former keepers - I'm sure they'd love to have it.

Alas poor Baldrick, we knew him well...how sad.
I've always loved your shot of him.

Thanks for the chuckles!

And thanks snaffles and dknourek - I'm delighted!

Melethia - I did actually give them a print a year or two back. I've heard that they now have another, younger bird but the keeper said he was nothing like as characterful and friendly as Baldrick.

I'm sorry for your loss. The loss of a loved one is always hard (even if they look like a vulture).

*sigh*

I just couldn't leave that last part out, could I? *sigh again*

Did you feel affection for him? I've never had a bird before... so I can't imagine what you're feeling.

Anyway, I'm glad he brought us Snaffles.

Baldrick and you have done well.

A face only a mother or a Mandy could love. Please forward my condolences to her. As a bird owner for many years, I understand her loss. Birds are very personable, and intelligent.

You captured the essence of a beautiful creature - and I thank you for it. As a bird lover, I have experienced the heartache of losing a loved one (even though she wasn't my bird). Thinking of you and proud that you managed to present him in magnificent light through your skill, passion, and expertise.

Sorry if it seems sappy, but I have loved birds before too and I know what it is to lose them.
