Normally they send an email but I didn't get one. That means it's also on their big screen in Times Square, wish I were there to see it!

Good idea! We have plenty of newyorkers here. Hopefully one of them will be able to get a shot of her photo displayed on the big screen.

Just happened to catch this -- I'll trot over and try to get you a pic. Be warned, however, when I did the same for timfythetoo, the "big screen" image came out poorly, much like trying to take a photo of your own TV set.
Any quick suggestions to overcome this, before I head out?

Shoot Manual and make adjustments. Chimp the shot until it looks right.

Tripod and a moderately long shutter speed.

Wow, thanks, but don't go out of your way. I really don't care what the quality of the image is like, just seeing it there will be good enough. :)

Thanks for the advice, guys. Not to worry, Karen, it's in the neighborhood. Plus it will give me an excuse to go to the cigar store nearby afterwards. :-D

Interestingly enough, this is one of my favorite images on the site and definitely one of my favorite shots of yours Karen yet I hadn' marked it as a favorite.

Congrats and thanks again for sharing this great image!

Remeber the big-screen image is made up of discrete pixels, which may interact with the sensor array in your camera to produce moire effects. The ways to mitigate this effect are:
-adjust to various zoom levels
-angle the camera 30° or 45° to the display screen
-very slightly de-focus

Congratulations Karen!

Thanks for the additional advice, GE - unfortunately, Karen, the electronic billboard is down. I saw for 10-15 minutes and waited, but the only thing showing is the kodak.com logo -- no photo. I'm in Times Square right now using someone else's internet connection, so I'll sign off and see if they have the screen working again in an hour or so.

Hey karen, when I had one on there, I went to earthcam.com and got a screen shot of it. It's not the best but it worked. You go to the Times Square camera and just keep watching. It took awhile but if you miss it, just wait and it'll show again. You can zoom too.

Wow! Congratulations, Karen! That photo is so amazing -- and what phenomenal success it has had! I hope you can get some kind of picture of it on the big screen. That is awesome!
