Because the nudes here are beautiful, well thought out and executed. Most of the other nudes are about nudity. Here there is something more :-)

Sure, but in my example we are talking about 10x as many views as my next picture (and not a single comment). It is not getting that number of views just because of any photographic element, its getting them due its content, nudity. There is no coincidence there. This is a photography site and as much as I agree with you that the nudes that I have looked at on DPC are stunning I was merely indicating my suprise (and perhaps naievety) of the sheer number of views for what I would guess is pure titilation.

Can I start by saying that I have no issue with how many people view that particualr image. In fact the more the better as far as I am concerned. Its my work and I am very proud of it and my gorgeous wife, who at 40+ had an amazing body and is a great subject to photograpgh for a simple amateur like me. I was merely trying to contribute to the converstation, about a subject of which I am very passionate. I have always avoided the 'anit-nutidty' threads simply due to my strength of feeling on the subject.

Curiosity, I don't think so. Take this picture. uploaded 2 weeks ago. A fantastic image by a great photographer. Uploaded 2 weeks ago and has had 1800 views. I don't think that there will be many non-nude (non-challenge) images getting over a 100 views a day and I don't think its curiosity either.

I guess I'll just have to practice lighting etc and come up with someone that we both feel comfortable with. The nudes here are very well done and I PERSONAL can appreciate them for what they are and not just 'someones wife'...

I am a photogs wife. I have hubby has started telling me he wants to do "tasteful nudes" and told him That I am not comfortable with it. And please don't do it at all. Well after a fight I told him I did not like it but I someone PAYING him and wanted him to do it tell me first please.

Well this is what happened. He had a had a models wanting to do time for print on a sunday (That is family time we have 2 children 7 &3) I said ok I could run and to the store with the kids for a few(I was thinking like 2) hours I call and he was still shooting ok 2 more hours and to very fuss childs I ask it is safe to come home???? The kids are tired. He was still shooting but he said going on and come home. I did he is still going but he finely stopped and the model left he needed smokes and I went to the store for him to get them for him.

I get back and he stops me in the bedroom and tells me I take some nudes shoots.. NO he did not tell me first and I am thinking 1 or 2(no it was over 210). I am MAD AS hell too. What the fuck. It is like I his just waiting for the chance to do it too and did not even listen to what I said in the first place. He said first she was taped ok I was not as mad. Then later the kids go to bed she did take the tape off later because you could see it and it was messing up the photos. I was so mad I and started calling to "model " that little HOE was in MY HOUSE and _______ .... I am so mad I was seeing red. That hoe. He had the nerve to said I AM HURT you don't trust me. (That is the worst thing to say too) I do trust him and he would not do anything like that I don\'t think. But we have a fight too. And he turns to around on me some how. And again I end up say I am the one sorry too.

I do still feel up set to. I DON'T think nude Photography is a good type of Photography I hate it. IT is porno to me and there is nothing any can say to change my mind ether. But I do thing porno has its place too. Just not in really Photography. I am not a fan and wish he would not do it and he just seems to only want to do it more now. And don't get me wrong I am not trying to be porn is bad. To me nude Photography is just NOT art as I said to me it is porno.

I will not let him do shoots in the home any more (I told him this but he don't think I mean it). I feel hurt that he acted like a kid and did not in any way I have a right to be upset about it too.

Hmm no I don't think it's a direct translation, it's too close to spoken English in places. My guess is that English is her second language and that she rarely writes it down.

Though I feel badly for your experience, and you have every right to your opinion, it's just that.......your opinion

There is absolutely no comparison between artistic photography and pornography. They are very different and specific forms of expression.

Leaving aside the porn vs. nude argument. The person who doesn't give considerable thought to posting nude pics of themselves or their wife (or even husband) on the internet is not thinking very hard. Would most people walk around their backyard nude for neighbors to see? Probably not. If we consider it reasonable to keep these things private, why suddenly does it anonimity of the net protect us? Such activity has a real chance of biting you in the butt.

Why not just post your wife's social security number? ;)

Even more easily if you're not wearing pants. I suppose we should recommend that anyone considering modeling in the nude should make sure their tetanus immunization is up-to-date. :-)

Welcome to DPC.

From your bizarre post I get the feeling you're not at ease with your nudity. As for me personally, I don't like nudes where the model is fat and ugly, I just can't look or see beyond that so I don't do nudes and I don't like seeing amateurs trying to do it because from what I've seen here or any where else on the net they mostly suck at it or make the model look like a porn queen when she is not.

Here's a tip for the amateurs who want to try nudes. Don't ask you wives or girlfriends unless they are already porn stars. :)

I know it's a sad comment to make but it wasn't sarcasm. I finally realized why I was always criticizing the photographer for their work. It wasn't the photog, it was the model. lol

Let's just say that I would be a great photog for a mag like this one(NSFW), but not for one where the main focus is nudity with any model who wishes to undress, no matter what he/she looks like. Of course it's all subjective and personal but that's what I prefer.
