Choose upto 5 pictures that others took (not your own) and that inspire you enough to go back and check them now and again...

I will start here:

Out of 129 of my favorites as of today, here are the top 5 (in no particular order) that inspire me the most:

I thank these artists for renewing my zeal for picking the camera up every few days.

Thank you!

Just five? That's tough, so here are a random five amongst the dozens:

by De Sousa
by goodman
by Ivo
by krnodil
by ubique

Roz just inspires me in general because she has such a PASSION for photography, but i have wanted to get into macro shots and her bugs have really lit that fire

I really tried to improve my portrait photography (and I feel like I have made some strides), and much of it has to do with SandyP's advice and the inspiration of her shots

shots like this one from Kali have encouraged me to try and use the photo AND the title to make the viewer THINK!

this is actually not the shot I would have chosen from ShannonLee but much to my dismay, she has let her account lapse, i find no other more appropriate word for her work than 'moving'

last, but CERTAINLY not least, it has been very enjoyable to watch my step-daughter ScooterMcnutty grow in her skills, i fear her powers as she grows ;) its refreshing to see the frame through the viewfinder of a young person

by hihosilver Oh to have such a wonderful horsey motion blur in my portfolio!

by De Sousa and not to be afraid of such a large and complicated set up.

by suemack or capture meaningful moments of human/animal contact.

by roz the glorious color, imagination and composition that goes into photo illustrations

by Pedro for new (wide) angles on my usual equine subjects which is a big "no no" to most pro horse photographers

and if I could add a sixth, it would be lynnesite and there are oh so many more as well

There are so MANY! My favorites folder is huge - and every one is special to me. But with the direction I want to go with my photography, I think these are the photos /photographers that have inspired me to "grow" in that direction:
by goodman
by gsal
by gsal

Still looking and thinking of others, but these are the 3 that stand out the most to me. They are photos that tell the story of a face. The photograph of a soul. It is the kind of photography I am most passionate about.

I could fill your hard drive with all of the wonderfully inspirational photos from DPCers. I spent quite a bit of time narrowing it down to these 5 (although there are literally dozens that could have easily made this list if I had been in a different mood). Unfortunately, some of my most inspirational photos belong to photographers who are no longer members (and therefore no longer available for display).

Thank you to everyone at DPC for your time, talent, inspiration, friendship, generosity, comments, criticisms, and persistence. I credit this site & its members with my success to date in a very competitive field. I love everything about photography and learn more every day from you wonderful people.

Here are the 5 that made my list (in no particular order):

kiwiness
Truly a master... There are tons more in Gary's portfolio that inspire me, but this was one of the first. His more recent work is beyond surreal. I LOVE it!

Pedro
Peter's work is so great and creative. This is a masterpiece. His SPs are probably my favorite.

librodo
Manny is an most amazing portrait photographer. I'm sure it helps to have such beautiful students and models at his disposal, but he captures the true essence and beauty of the subject.

Joey Lawrence
Joey has been a real inspiration - seeing him grow from a kid with a 1MP P&S into a world-class professional. This particular shot was inspiring, but there are a number of others (no longer available) that touched me on so many levels.

elsapo
Another young guy who never ceases to amaze me... His work is just stellar and this particular piece left me speechless.

As I said before, it is nearly impossible to do justice to the numerous inspirational images on this site. If you asked me tomorrow, I'd give you 5 different photos from 5 more AMAZING photogs.

I can't really choose 5 photos that inspire me, but I can pick a photographer.

njsabs2323. Her photographs of people, especially her children, are something that I would love to be able to capture myself. I find myself going to her portfolio time and time again to get inspiration and look at the way she does things and write notes on how to apply some of that to my own work down the line.

Once these winter blues are out of my system, look out DPC!

The photographer I draw a vast majority of my inspiration from is easily the works of jlanoue. As for the photograph's, that was also an easy choice.

I hope that someday I can create a photo that leaves me as breathless as this one does.

This encourages me to be more dedicated, to wait for that perfect moment.

A viewer in their place is a lost art

To break away from light in the popular sense of photography (and what drew me to IR)

I need to do more double exposures

The Breaking New Ground Challenge was by far one of the most inspirational for me.

by Faery, still to this day my favorite image on DPC.
by JawnyRico who was lighting up DPC one day and gone the next.
by Yanko for taking a slightly better than average nature photo and turning it into a masterpiece.
by Brin because I'm a sucker for anything taken at night, and supremely jealous of the night sky in northern latitudes.
by byshen for brilliantly capturing the essence of childhood and making it look easy.
