But this is the first left!

Fifth floating foot found

i was just watching that on the news, isn't this the strangest story in a long time?
So weird!
You got to wonder what is up... my guess is it is from one of those big shipping boats and the people are not from here but somewhere maybe in asia.... just a pure guess... no facts.

WTF?! How else does a foot come off?!

I see... so somebody dumped a bunch of bodies in the bottom of wherever, about however long ago it takes for an ankle to decompose underwater.

***note to self*** tie rocks to shoelaces also.

This is the part that I find the strangest...

"Although human remains frequently appear on the rocky coastline of the Gulf islands, the similarities between the cases is attracting prurient media interest."

Now with that said, Who all is glad the DPC workshop is in Calgary and not Victoria this year?

*runs from the room and hides...*

Someone help me with this sentence:

"All five of the feet, still in trainers..."

Does that mean baby shoes? Were the victims infants or children??
06/17/2008 09:35:18 PM · #10
Trainers = sneakers or running shoes
athletic shoes

Ah, thank you Sara. So then, could be any age/size, not necessarily kids. Not that that makes it better, but a little less of the shudder factor.

The article said that there were two men's size 12 right feet, a men's size 10 right foot, and a women's size 7 right foot found before this latest one, so I'm guessing adults, or at least older teens.

I thought it might grab some curious souls :)

There's lots of theories, some sinister, but so far nothing concrete. (I guess the ones in concrete would sink though...)

That creeped me out, it reads so casually, but where do all these human remains come from?

I didn't like where it said of the human body parts regularly found, feet in shoes are most common because the shoes make them float.....

.... why are they in the water????? Who's feet are these!?!

...and why are they mostly just the "right" feet? Where are the "left" feet? Will they wash up at some point or does some weirdo nutjob have a collection going? YIKES!

Well, there's always boats capsizing/sinking, victims not found, there was a small plane crash a few years back, same thing... suicides...now they're saying at least some might have washed down the Fraser River (the longest in BC), so that covers another 840 miles of accidents, suicides and foul play.

They may never know, but it's really strange, almost to the point of wanting to start a pool on when the next one'll be found!

Oooohhhh yeahhhhh!!

eta; I just reread the story and had to laugh;
"...a forensic anthropologist at SFU, Mark Skinner, is boiling the flesh off them..."

Sorry, it just struck me as amusing. :)
