OK people, this is the official thread for the Farmer's Market GTG in Madison.

Rough schedule:

1) Meet in the AM for the market: breakfast, strolling, clicking
2) Lounge around downtown for some interesting people watching and architectural or lake clicking
3) Meet at my house mid to late afternoon for an outstanding cookout/BBQ
4) Back to the lakes for some evening and sunset clicking

I'm suggesting May 24 with a rain date of the 31st. My only limitation is that I cannot do May 17th. If anyone feels strongly about going earlier in May, toss out the dates and argue your cases. I don't want to go any later because it will start to bump up against the Door County GTG of the other thread.

For the cookout. I'm planning to provide burgers, dogs, brats and a grilled veggie alternative for the meatless among us. Everybody who comes should plan to bring some type of a dish to pass, drinks, etc. When you "sign up" for the GTG, suggest what you might bring and I'll keep the list current by updating this message.

Come to Madison folks, let's fill up my house and yard that afternoon!

Respondees' RSVPs so far
strangeghost (meats for grill, buns, condiments)
smartypants
imagesbytlp (salad and naughty dessert)
ironworker
bugzeye
kirbic (homemade potato salad)
shutterpuppy (maybe)
mildes (can only do if May 31st)
fsteddy (chips and dip)
Elmakias
kkenison (veggies and dip)

I should be good for May 24th...the only weekend in May I can't is the 31st. That's my girl's weekend in Door County.

I can bring:

Blue Cheese & Pear Salad
Dessert...something decadent!!

Oh no! Tell you what, I'll supply the WW approved dessert and you bring on the debauch. Check my profile, in spite of my WW ways, I'm still 100% epicurean and gastronome!

Im free every week but the 3rd and 4th of May My daughters bday we have a party on the 4th gotta use the 3rd to prepare for it. 31st sounds a week warmer to me.

Have to think about the dish to pass, will have to make sure we bring a cooler or something that doesn't turn ugly from the heat in the car all day.

Kirbic: if you can't come, send beer for bugz.

JerseyGenie: you buy the plane ticket, I'll pay for your breakfast - we'll call it even.

I won't be able to make it on the weekend on the 24th, will be in grand Canyon then, I might be able to make it on the 31st.

Count me in as tentative as well -- either weekend. I may be in the middle of a messy work project for the majority of May, which would derail things, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

LOL, hmmmmm. I think I'm getting the more expensive end of this deal. Or maybe I'll ditch weight watchers that day, then you might get the worst end of the deal.

If this happens on the 31st, I may have to cut out before the BBQ. My brother's step son is moving to Vegas and is having a farewell party the afternoon of the 31st. My brother and sister inlaw are going to be here from Vegas to help him pack and move, This will be the last chance I have to see my brother before I move to New Zealand, So I will definately have to attend at some stage in the day then again I might be able to see him before or after the 31st. Going to play it by ear because I do not have all the details for the farewell party yet or how long my bro is going to be here.

www.strobist.com, basically lighting stuff with strobes. It would be cool to do a group shot or something.

providing i can make it to the cook out, I could bring some Alien Bee's and add on toys. Could have a little fun and get creative.

Hey, as long as you bring food, you can bring anything else you want. I'd love to mess around with strobes.

Retitled: Madison Spring Farmers Market GTG with Strobes.
