Just wanted to know if I am the only idiot that forgot that 720 px were allowed for the Free Study.

does it really make any difference. If the photo is good enough it would win even at 500 pixels. If it has to bomb it will even at 720 px.

I certainly wouldn't disagree with this premise.

If the image is an absolute eyesore, the added pixels would only serve to accentuate existing flaws.

Making things more noticeable is not always a good thing.

Aak, I know the feeling. I forgot once a while back, now I re-check before submitting every time. It's so annoying, isn't it? :-(

What?!?!!! OMG, I just found out!!! Pickles!!

If it makes you feel any better - not only did I not realise . . but I also had to downsize my picture from 640pixels to try and increase the resolution . . hey-ho.

:- )

Yeah I'll admit I wasn't paying attention.

Well, I remembered the 720/200 thing, but I processed a smoother version of my image and then forgot to upload it...

I guess I should start reading the rules. LOL!!! Maybe that is why my score is so low.

I always look for the size, yet this time because of softening, I intentionally went smaller.

didn't even think about it . . ..

I knew it was 720 but I chose to enter a 640 photo. It is also only basic editing. Unfortunately people don't like the crop and I thought there might be some issues with that. It's scoring 5.8 so I guess that isn't bad for a 640 photo with basic editing in an expert editing 720 challenge!

At least you didn't put text on yours. >=P D'oh! And my first two votes averages 8.5...

I did have text on mine too, remembered at l1:50pm on the rollover night, spend the next 5 minutes fixing and re-editing mine then got it back in at 11:59....

Talk about a close call.

I think it really does not make any difference. Last free study, same thing happened with me, I finished my entry under 640 pixls and 150 kb, and then realise that I could go till 720 pixels. I had 20 days to fix the thing, but after thought I concluded that it won't matter in the end. 720 pixels only exposes the flaws.
It did pretty well in the end. (it finished 52nd in 650 odd entries, didn't it).

I forgot too - though I don't think it would have made any difference for me.

well it doesn't say a lot but your kickin my butt on a 720 advanced edited image. I'm barely sitting at 4.8. I tried to go a little different in editing on this but still keep it non-artsie...guess I should have left it alone...when will I learn?!

I didn't realize it either. I don't think it would have mattered though, my shot is totally tanking. Note to self, stop entering free studies! For some reason I can't get a decent free study score to save my life...

Almost same here, I do not enter free study untill and unless I have something good to offer. There are so many entries, I feel like crowding if it is not really good.

I usually don't enter them either because there is just TOO much good competition but I had really hoped for a new personal best. I just voted on 50% of them and found an image similar to mine that I think I would have had beat if only I'd left it alone at basic editing...leaves room hitting self in the head murming stupid, stupid, stupid
