Okay, I've got the gadget installed in my sidebar, but am getting a message saying "No scores found for user 'zymara'". I *do* have a Contre-jour entry, and my password is nothing exotic (i.e. no special characters, it's a standard english word)...?

Ahh - since I am essentially using the "update" button (as lesgainous asked earlier) to get updates every 10 minutes, it only works for members.

I'll add a "Member/registered user" option so that it knows whether to try and use the update link. I'll let you know when that's added.

Cheers,
-Jeff

zymara and David.C: Since I'm out of town for Easter weekend, I just quickly put together a "60-minute update, non-paying member" version here: non-member version

Let me know if this works for you. =)

Yeah, you can really tell a difference--especially when using Photoshop!

I have a built-in SD card slot on my Toshiba notebook, so I put a 4Gb card in there and am using it for ReadyBoost.

Actually the original (or actually .2) version started working for me a few minutes ago. Not sure what changed, other than I went and added some Vista components so I could check out the Snip tool. :^)

Thanks!

Well, I made some changes to the xml proxy which may have caused it. Unfortunately I don't have Vista on my laptop, so I can't change much because I can't really test it while out of town.

Hope it continues to work (and I didn't break anything). =)

DUDE! Aewsome gadgets! I have been waiting for the results slideshow thingy for years! It's one of the first things I suggested when first coming on board. Any chance it will come out for IE as that is what I use. :)

Thanks & awesome work!

Just an update: the DPCgadget wasn't forcing score updates as I had trimmed it for non-paying members (who don't have update buttons).

Being a bit of an update addict, I've changed it back so that it forces the updates again. In other words, it is essentially using the update button before checking your score.

This means it probably won't work for non-paying members. Maybe at some point I'll fix it to work for both, but in the mean time I noticed that there weren't any non-paying members using it anyway.

Maybe someday, since it downloads scores every 10 minutes, it'll graph the scores you receive over time. That might be fun.

(No need to download an update, this change was on the server side only)

Mine is displaying random DPC pics. It's running on my desktop, but I sent a message to SC requiring approval before making it publically available.

I am still waiting for the approval...

There is no record of any such request in the ticket archives. Did you send it to SC (general inquiry) or Langdon (administrative)?

I've just downloaded the gadget, but it doesen't seem to work:

It says: Error connecting to DPChallenge.com - check username and password

I've checked several times that both my username, and password is correct

Anybody knows what's wrong?

I wonder if your firewall is blocking internet access to it.

I downloaded the gadget and it ran while I had the laptop on, now I turned it back on and it isnt there. Surely I dont have to download it every time? What am I doing wrong, never tried gadgets before.

Do you have vista? It should run in the side panel and load each time.

Yes I have vista and I loaded it again and its working now, but I know as soon as I reboot it wont auto start, is there a box I need to make it autostart? I've never used gadgets before

MattO

ETA found in control panel that gadget was not set to start when windows does. CLicked now and will check again when I reboot.

Thought I'd bump this during update mania just after rollover. Sure is nice having your score on your desktop.

My score is 7.0 after 3 votes. When I wake up tomorrow morning, I won't even have to use the browser - just glance at the sidebar, curse the voters under my breath, and go about my merry day!
