Why do I have this feeling there will be more than 500 entries for this challenge?

Soooo easy to find street shots... it will be very fun to see who would win, and the winner photo will be classic in DPC I bet ya :)

This will be a fun challenge for sure but no waiting until the 11th hour on this one.

Street photography? Not Street photography III? Not even Street photography II? Street photography? With no roman numerals behind it? Wow... I thought for sure this would have been done before.

Now I'll have to figure out other ways of determining what people will like in this challenge. Hmm...I suppose a macro shot of asphalt would be too far outside the box eh?

:)

This is going to be a great challenge for the community.

Hmm...I just noticed my signature may give me some inspiration based on text in the challenge.

so true.

I bet e301 will be rubbing his hands together when he sees this challenge, and posthumous will have his commenting boots all shiny too.

Ok in general, how do you approach a stranger to take there picture? I have a hard time doing this, havn't tried yet but i want to get something for this challenge
02/12/2007 02:16:50 AM · #15
I think the best way is to simply walk up, introduce yourself, and ask. At worst they say no.

the other way to try and approach this challenge is to try and be invisible and capture the scene without being known. I find these the most interesting types of street work, when the people in the shots don't even know they are apart of it. But I am just one voter. You don't have to worry about releases.

Ya right...this challenge comes up and I think all my Drover teams are out of reach...dammit!

I see you are excited and anxious about this challenge. LOL

Do you think something like a quiet back-country road shot would score as well as some big-city shots?

Hard to predict. Suppose it all depends on the shot and how much interest it holds.

Great. I'm working all day every day this week. You don't have to worry about my entry for this one. :-(

This was taken quite a while ago, but I need some idea for what to do. Would this fit the qualifications?
