Greetings...

Who is your favorite photographer on DPChallenge that you receive feedback and inspiration from? I would like to compile a list of the top 5 people who get votes in this thread and conduct an experiment based on those people.

Please cast a vote for ONE photographer only. Your vote should be based on your interest in their photography AND the quality of feedback that you receive from that person.

The details of the experiment will be provided after a list of the top 5 nominees have been compiled.

damn thats a hard one. there are two many great people on this site i don't know if i could narrow it down to one...

Normally I would say you John. The few comments that I've been fortunate enough to recieve from you have been the building blocks to the photographer that I am today! However, since you are the one conducting the experiment, I would have to say Bear!

Thats easy Bear

Yep - good luck with this endeavor. I would have a hard time picking one for their feedback, let alone one for their photography and I guarantee it would not be the same person.

I'll try to collect nominations from this thread for 2 or 3 days...
11/07/2005 01:59:51 AM · #7
Are you going to put them together in the Cage of Death and make 'em fight to the finish? I'll pay for that. ;-)

Jutilda - on almost every challenge I enter I've had a comment from her. A comment that shows she's really looked at my shot, thought about what I'm trying to say......helped me see how I could have said it better. Thankyou Judy, you are awesome!

I'm gonna vote, but its not based on verbal or commentary feedback, but rather feedback that simply is... just because they frequent the site and still contribute. I see their work and am continually inspired as a result.

No easy decision to be sure, but I would have to say jjbeguin.

I am continually amazed at the sheer volume of work he has presented here. Not only in challenges but though his portfolio as well. And his record with the challenges speaks for itself.

The thing I admire most about JJ, though, is his style. Sometimes you can spot his work from across the room. Few other photogs have one that is so well defined.

Alright, since Sue brought it up, I will second the nomination for Jutilda. My second choice woulda been Richard Dreyfuss' brother.

Good luck in the Cage, Judy - I know you can take him. ...unless he brings Karma with him. :(

Unfortunately, he's not around much anymore, but I'd say Magnetic9999 has given be the best advice and feedback, mostly in DPC Fanatics tho, not in the forums or anything. A lot of the advice is photographic, a lot of it is about what lenses are best, what cameras/settings to use, and also a lot of unrelated things I've pestered him about, such as movie editing etc. He is also an excellent photographer, as you can see from his profile :)

I haven't gotten that many comments from David Sidwell, but they've usually been pretty good; also to consider are the comments he made as part of his interviews.

i'll second bear_music

Don't know where this is going so it's tough to narrow it down to one person. Some of the people I'd include in my top group have already been mentioned so I'll go with one who hasn't been put forward yet - kirbic.

Does your experiment involve genetics or DNA modification?

My vote is for admart01 I enjoy her "one of my favoirtes this challenge --" comments. Her choices are consistently good, and sometimes she actually will comment on one of mine. Comments from high roller dpc shooters already listed are always interesting but I also appreciate insight from all who write.

kiwiness, he has been so helpful when I PM him, asking him questions and he's just a super nice guy to boot. Plus his photos are legendary to me. :)

I nominate stdavidson. He's a very talented photographer, and very helpful too.

Count me in for the bear_music nomination, but I would also like to add BradP and DrAchoo
