7D mark II to become full frame?

I may be upgrading my body sooner than expected. I would love to go ff.

I think it will be some time before I upgrade. Maybe if I start to lose cognitive functions and need more help from my camera then perhaps... until then it just seems pointless.

If it's true, I'll probably look into getting the ff 7D instead of the 5Dmkiii I'm currently lusting over.

Of course, the 60D name will be put out to pasture soon because I just bought one a few weeks ago. I would do it again, though. I love my 60D and could live with the price.

that puppy might be full frame but to keep the 5dmiii shares they're gonna crap out on all the other upgrades; basically it'll cost another 4 or 5 hundred bucks for the same 7d camera with a ff sensor.

ps. that i'd totally buy.

FWIW, I really doubt that the 7D would become a full frame offering, but you never know. If it did, they would have to bring up something else, probably the next XXD model, to fill the 7D niche.

And that would be filled by a 70d which was noted in the article. I was out shooting a bridge the other day and thought to myself how great my shot would have been if I had another 40% in my field of view at the same zoom range... I would love to go FF but do not want to run into the same limited performance issues that came from deciding to save money on my current body. Such as only having up to 1600 ISO or having noise issues or whatever other limitations that come from cutting costs on a camera to reach a market segment.

They have to do something with it.

I go shooting sometimes with a friend with a 60D and comparing the two cameras, all I do is envy his flip and twist screen. I would probably accept a straight trade for my 7D to *downgrade* to a 60D. Crazy huh.

Especially with all the video I am doing these days... Not to mention the fact that I am a rather (unwillingly) solitary bastard, so without the flip and twist, it's almost impossible to do a decent pic with a person in it. Can't take a pic of myself and there's nobody in the frame.

That has actually been the single greatest factor that has ground my photography down to going shooting 1 or 2 times a year.

My friend with the 60D has a wife (a bit camera shy to be honest), but he still has dozens if not hundreds of pics of himself with various different ideas. Not all of them are keepers - actually many of them are ideas that he acts out simply to show other people what to do.

Yeah, if that's the way things go, put me down for a 70D. Yeesh.
