It's liable to get buried in the other thread. And I'm sure Mae won't mind.

I am not a demanding person, and I will not demand or whine for your return.

Instead, please accept my polite and humble invitation to return and rise above any other petty requests you may have received here.

We all create our own experience and mine is not the same without your presence.

In this respect for you, I am not alone.

Please RSVP.

Thank you.

Yup.

I sent Paul an email earlier this morning to wish him well and ask if he was posting his work somewhere. He did respond to me. I'm pretty sure he is done with DPC.

Well, maybe I'm a better pest than you are...;-P

Paul has all the gracious trappings of a true gentleman and he has no reason not to rise above this.

Thanks, Brian...;-)

FWIW, if someone feels that they have been so badly mistreated here that they need to take their ball and go home, well then, so be it. Either they eventually realize their reaction was petty and rash and come back, or they find another, friendlier community (good luck on that one).
Also FWIW, his original comment was snarky and aimed squarely at the photographer (not the image); the SC was correct, IMO, in asking him to edit it. The "target" of his comment is also a prickly character, and I'm not at all surprised by her reaction.

Wrong thread, Fritz. This is an open invitation to Paul to return.

I don't usually do this, but I think this would be a relevant idea right now and given your feelings on the matter, you might find this interesting.

Honestly, I don't think Ubique will come back, but I think the likelihood is far less if nothing changes.

My idea allows for some change that comes from the users and that is self-regulating. It also reduces both dependency on the SC and has the potential to reduce some of the headaches for them.

Certainly with all the comments flying around lately about the idea of the SC being broken either at a conceptual level or an individual level, it would certainly be preferable to be proactive and constructive.

If we were to put something like this into motion collectively, perhaps it would improve the atmosphere, not only for newcomers, but also people on the fringes and the long-suffering long-time users. A better DPC experience for all.

Heck, the DPL came from a user idea and ended up becoming an implemented feature of DPC.

Photography is for some the art of showing, and for others it is the art of seeing. Both ways are fine (though I'm not sure what the formers would do without the latter). I cherish photography as the art of seeing, as it allows viewers to participate in the making of the art (and not just to appreciate the artist). Ubique humbled me multiple times by demonstrating what the art of seeing can encompass (his capacity to articulate his ideas did help). So I am joining Mae (if she accepts me) in her honest call.

(to get a flavor of what I will be missing, look for comments with The Thumb)

::BEAMS::...please grab a chair..may I pour you a cup of home roasted coffee?

All well wishers are welcome (not Rose though...;-P).

I even have a cup of Earl Grey for Captain Kirbic...;-)

Why not Rose? At least she never stomped off pouting.

Seriously. Please take your rants elsewhere. Can we have at least one supportive thread in favor of Paul's return? If that's not your agenda, take it elsewhere.

Paul did not start any of these threads. He disappeared and let a handful of his friends know. It's unfair to accuse him of stomping and pouting.

OK, I stand corrected. Paul left. His friends are stomping and pouting.

I'm all for his return or his continued absence. If he wants to come back, he will, if not, he won't.

If you want to blame someone for his absence, blame the person who decided Paul should leave DPC.

It's more of a "stomp-stomp-clap, stomp-stomp-clap"

Since the other one was locked, can we still post some gems here?
